This is a business-ownership role, not a sales role. We looking for a Business Head to run Managed WiFi as a Service as a standalone P&L; within the company, with the MSME segment as the core market — not an enterprise or large-account play. You will take the product from its current pilot stage to a scaled, profitable business unit: building the go-to-market motion for MSME customers, building and leading the team beneath you, controlling delivery and hardware cost to protect margin, and owning pricing and commercial decisions end to end.
Early on, you will be hands-on — closing pilot accounts, stress-testing pricing and delivery assumptions, and shaping the operating model. As the business scales, your role shifts to building and running the organisation beneath you: sales and partnerships, coordination with delivery/NOC and technology, and the reporting discipline of a business unit that leadership can track on revenue, cost, and margin. Think of this as running a business inside the business, with the CEO as your primary stakeholder.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Own the full PL for Managed WiFi as a Service — revenue, delivery/hardware cost, gross margin, and contribution margin — not sales revenue alone.
- Build the annual and quarterly business plan (revenue target, cost budget, headcount plan) and report performance against it to the CEO and leadership on a regular cadence.
- Build, hire, and lead the team required to run the business — sales and partnerships in the first phase,
expanding to whatever functions the P&L; needs as it scales (e.g. inside sales, key account management,
delivery coordination).
- Own pricing, packaging, and margin decisions across customer segments and deployment types, including where and how far to flex on price without breaching a floor margin.
- Drive go-to-market for the MSME segment primarily through channel and partnership leverage — facility management companies, IT/system-integrator firms, and commercial real estate brokerage teams —
supplemented by a lean direct-sales motion for larger or multi-branch MSME accounts as they arise;
enterprise/large-account opportunities are opportunistic, not the core focus.
- Work closely with the product/technology and delivery teams on hardware BoQ, deployment cost, and capacity planning, so commercial commitments stay deliverable and margin-safe.
- Own vendor and hardware negotiations (access points, routers, and related infrastructure) with a direct eye on unit economics.
- Set up the sales process, pipeline stages, CRM discipline, and territory/quota/incentive structure for the team as it is built out.
- Represent us in strategic conversations with channel and referral partners, including negotiating partnership commercials.
- Track and defend unit economics (cost per seat/AP, delivery cost, churn, LTV) as the business scales across cities.
What We are Looking For:-
- 12+ years of overall experience, including at least 5 years with genuine P&L; accountability for a business unit or product line — owning cost and margin, not only a revenue number.
- A proven track record of building a business or product line from an early/pilot stage to scale (0-to-1), with a customer base concentrated in the MSME segment.
Telecom/ISP background is not a must-have —
candidates who have led an MSME-focused business or vertical elsewhere (e.g., MSME banking, MSME lending/NBFC, MSME insurance, or another B2B services business with deep MSME reach) are equally, if not more, relevant.
- A genuine understanding of how MSME customers buy — price sensitivity, decision cycles, and the channel/referral relationships (facility managers, brokers, CAs, local IT vendors) that actually reach them —
over pure enterprise sales pedigree.
- A genuine blend of commercial and operational instincts — equally comfortable driving sales/partnerships and defending unit economics with finance and delivery teams.
- Working fluency with unit economics: margin, contribution, cost-to-serve, and working capital — able to build and defend a business plan and budget independently.
- Demonstrated experience building teams from scratch and leading cross-functional groups (sales,
partnerships, and coordination with delivery/technology functions).
- Direct experience with channel, partnership, or alliance-led commercial models is a strong plus, since GTM leverage into the MSME segment here comes primarily through partners rather than a large direct sales floor.
- An entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset — comfortable operating with real autonomy and ambiguity, since this is effectively running a business rather than executing a function.
- Robust relationship-building and communication skills, credible with facilities heads and IT decision-makers as well as senior partner-side stakeholders and internal leadership.
- Familiarity with the Mumbai and/or Bangalore commercial real estate and corporate markets is an advantage.
