Role Description

- The Modeler role at GridsGlobal Steel Detailing LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai.
- The Modeler will be responsible for creating and updating accurate 3D structural steel models, ensuring alignment with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Daily tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating with detailing and fabrication teams, resolving modeling issues, and preparing accurate reports and documentation.
- The role also involves collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to meet deadlines, minimize RFIs, and support high-quality deliverables.
- The Modeler is expected to actively participate in process improvements and adopt new tools and techniques introduced through ongoing training.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software commonly used in structural steel projects (e.g., Tekla Structures or SDS/2, ).



Familiarity with AISC Standards
- Solid understanding of structural steel detailing standards, fabrication practices, erection sequences, and basic engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, connection details, and project specifications with high accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working closely with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and other team members.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to meeting deadlines while maintaining quality and reducing RFIs.
- Experience with tech-based workflows, version control, and documentation processes in a steel detailing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the steel detailing
