Role Description The Medical Coding Trainer will deliver classroom and practical training sessions on medical coding concepts to learners at the Pune District campus in an on-site, full-time capacity. This role involves developing and updating training materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with current coding standards and industry requirements. The trainer will explain medical terminology, coding guidelines, and health information management concepts, while using real-world case studies and exercises to build learner competence.

Daily responsibilities include conducting lectures, supervising practice sessions,



evaluating learner performance, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining training records. The role also includes collaborating with other faculty members, supporting curriculum improvements, and ensuring that learners are prepared for certification exams and entry-level coding roles.

Qualifications

- Coding skills: Demonstrated Medical Coding and Coding Experience, with familiarity in applying industry-standard coding systems.
- Professional credentials and domain expertise: RHIT certification and background in Health Information Management are preferred.
- Clinical knowledge: Strong understanding of Medical Terminology and basic clinical documentation used in healthcare settings.
- Training and communication: Ability to design structured training content, deliver engaging sessions, and explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learner groups.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Health Information Management, Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare field.
- Experience: Prior experience as a medical coder and/or trainer in medical coding or healthcare education is highly beneficial.
- Additional skills: Solid organizational skills, proficiency with basic computer applications, willingness to stay current with coding and regulatory updates, and a learner-centric teaching approach.
