Assistant Design Engineer Location: Vasanthanarasapura industrial area, Tumkur Department: Design & Engineering Education: Diploma / BE Mechanical Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 1–3 years Job SummaryWe are looking for a motivated Assistant Design Engineer to support the design and engineering team in developing, modifying, and documenting engineering designs. The candidate will assist with CAD modelling, preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, documentation, and coordination with manufacturing and other technical teams. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist senior engineers in developing recent product and component designs.

Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models as per engineering requirements. Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings with appropriate dimensions and tolerances. Support design calculations, material selection, and component specifications.

Review designs for manufacturability, functionality, and cost effectiveness. Incorporate engineering changes and maintain updated drawings and design records. Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and other departments for design-related requirements.

Support prototype development, testing, and design validation. Assist in identifying design issues and implementing corrective actions. Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, drawings, and revision records.





Follow company engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality procedures.

Required

QualificationsDiploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering , or a related discipline. 1–3 years of experience in mechanical/product design; freshers with relevant CAD knowledge may also apply. Good knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA , or other relevant CAD software. Basic understanding of engineering drawing, GD&T;, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred

SkillsKnowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, machining, or assembly processes. Familiarity with BOM preparation and engineering change processes. Basic knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA, and quality standards.

Experience with ERP/PDM/PLM systems is an advantage.
