As a Lead Engineer, you will guide the testing team, define test strategies, ensure integration readiness across subsystems, and drive quality throughout the product validation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End System Integration Testing
- Define and drive system integration test strategy covering hardware, firmware, software, communication interfaces, devices, APIs, and connected subsystems.
- Plan and execute integration test scenarios across complete product workflows, including system bring-up, subsystem interaction, regression, failure handling, and release validation.
- Validate end-to-end behavior across embedded controllers, sensors, communication protocols, HMIs/tools, and cloud or backend integrations wherever applicable.
- Lead Engineer Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of test planning, estimation, execution approach, defect triage, test reporting, and release quality inputs.
- Guide and mentor the testing team on test design, automation practices, integration testing approach, debugging methods, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with embedded, software, hardware, DevOps, and product teams to ensure clear test scope, readiness, dependencies, and timely closure of issues.
- Test Planning, Automation, and Execution
- Develop comprehensive test plans, integration test cases, test data, and acceptance criteria based on system requirements and product specifications.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts, reusable test frameworks, and validation tools using Python and suitable automation technologies.
- Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, identify defects, support root-cause analysis, and ensure effective defect tracking and closure.
- Embedded Systems and Interface Validation
- Perform embedded system, firmware, HIL/SIL, controller, sensor, and communication interface testing to ensure compliance with functional and system specifications.
- Validate communication protocols and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Modbus, MQTT, or other product-specific protocols.
- Support debugging using appropriate tools, logs, traces, simulators, test benches, measurement instruments, and hardware/software diagnostic methods.
- Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to test processes, software development standards, quality practices, documentation discipline, and release readiness expectations.
- Improve test coverage, automation maturity, regression efficiency, CI/CD integration, defect prevention, and overall quality engineering practices.
- Communicate test progress, risks, findings, quality metrics, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and project teams.
To succeed, you will need
