The Software Engineering Team Lead (Full Stack) will be responsible for providing hands-on technical expertise while leading a team of engineers to design, maintain, and incrementally evolve a suite of high-performing, secure, and robust digital applications. This role demands strong proficiency in full-stack TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS event-driven architecture, along with the ability to manage and modernize legacy components built in PHP/Laravel. You will play a pivotal role in solving real-world, customer-facing issues through thoughtful enhancements, architectural improvements, and incident resolution. In addition to strong engineering skills, this role requires minimum 2-3 years of experience managing teams, fostering technical excellence, and driving value through proactive problem-solving.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, cross-functional engineering teams, and delivery leadership to ensure smooth operation, continuous improvement, and long-term scalability across a diverse and evolving digital estate.

Responsibilities

- Lead application stability and incremental enhancement efforts across a variety of platforms and services.
- Guide a team of engineers in implementing fixes, improvements, and small-scale features that create measurable business value.
- Support/Enhance legacy systems (PHP/Laravel) and gradually transition services to a full-stack TypeScript architecture.
- Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and observability across services.
- Coordinate closely with frontend/backend teams to ensure robust and performant APIs and user interfaces.
- Drive resolution of high-priority incidents, including root cause analysis and preventative measures.
- Lead design and code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge sharing within the team.




- Maintain ownership of CI/CD pipelines, deployment hygiene, and workplace readiness.
- Ensure documentation, monitoring dashboards, and operational runbooks are actively maintained.
- Collaborate with delivery and project managers to align technical execution with roadmap goals.
- Identify and implement tooling to enhance system visibility, error detection, and operational performance.
- Foster a team culture focused on accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

- 10+ years of engineering experience with modern backend and frontend development.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- TypeScript, Node.js (primary backend technology)
- SvelteKit, React.js, or similar modern frontend frameworks
- AWS - Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, S3
- REST APIs, Webhooks, and Event-driven architecture

- Working knowledge of legacy PHP/Laravel systems and experience leading modernization efforts.
- Experience with incident resolution processes, performance tuning, and application-level monitoring tools such as Sentry, New Relic, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams for 2-3 years, including mentorship, code reviews, and delivery oversight.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting ongoing business-critical systems.
- Comfortable operating in a hybrid onsite-offshore delivery model, coordinating across geographies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for delivering value through smart, practical engineering.
