Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team who is based in Hyderabad, India to work with colleagues in India and the UK to deliver business outcomes for the UK&I; region. You will join a small technical team, whose agile practices are still maturing, where you will work with the Engineering Manager and other team members on a specific project - to automate the deployment pipelines of a number of Azure DevOps hosted CaaS and Cast light applications. This is required to free up the other Nexis team members who are currently working on a set of manual deployment processes.
The team's primary focus is vulnerability remediation, and this is a key aspect of achieving that goal.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Pipelines / YAML) to replace existing manual deployment processes for CaaS and Castlight applications across dev, test, UAT, and production environments.
- Manage and orchestrate containerised workloads using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring pipelines are aligned to container lifecycle management best practices for already-containerised applications.
- Integrate Azure API Management (APIM) into deployment workflows, ensuring API proxy configurations are correctly managed and versioned as part of the automated release process.
- Work with the Engineering Manager and senior team members to define pipeline standards, branching strategies, and release gates that enforce quality and security controls at each stage.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
using Terraform to provision and manage Azure resources in a repeatable, auditable manner.
- Contribute to the team's vulnerability remediation activities by ensuring pipeline automation supports timely patching, image scanning, and compliance gating (e.g. integration with security tools such as Wiz and Checkmarx).
- Collaborate closely with UK-based colleagues across time zones, communicating clearly and proactively on progress, blockers, and technical decisions.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and actively support the team in maturing its delivery practices.
- Produce and maintain transparent technical documentation covering pipeline architecture, runbooks, and configuration decisions to support team knowledge sharing and onboarding.
- Provide technical guidance and peer review on pipeline code and IaC contributions from other team members. Required skills / experience:
- 7 or more years of developing with Azure cloud services including (but not limited to)DevOps, APIM, AKS and containerisation
- 5 or more years of programming using Terraform
- Azure DevOps CI / CD experience
- Experience integrating pipeline workflows with security tools such as Wiz, Checkmarx, or similar SAST/container scanning solutions.
- Exposure to OKTA or other identity/access management platforms in the context of application registration and deployment workflows.
- Experience in financial services and regulated environments
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert, AZ-104 Azure Administrator).
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for pipeline tooling and automation utilities.
