Specific Specialists works with IT services firms and consultancies to build high-quality datasets of human-authored technical and process documentation. Every engagement your team delivers produces a paper trail — discovery findings, solution designs, migration plans, root cause analyses, post-implementation reviews. That archive sits in SharePoint and never earns anything again.
We buy it. Anonymized, reviewed, and licensed on terms you control.
Who this is for
- IT services and consulting firms
- Systems integrators and implementation partners
- Managed service providers
- IT outsourcing and staff augmentation companies
- Internal IT and platform organizations at larger enterprises
If your teams write documents as part of delivery, you have inventory.
What we're buying
Documents that capture how experienced practitioners reason through real client problems — not marketing material describing what you offer.
Documents that fit
- Discovery and current-state assessment reports
- Solution architecture and technical design proposals
- Statements of work with technical scoping, assumptions, and out-of-scope reasoning
- Implementation, migration, and cutover plans, including rollback and contingency logic
- Runbooks and operational playbooks with escalation and triage reasoning
- Root cause analyses and incident postmortems
- Change management, release, and deployment plans
- Test strategies, UAT plans, and defect triage write-ups
- Client onboarding, transition, and knowledge-transfer documentation
- Post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned write-ups
- Vendor, platform, and tooling evaluations with selection rationale
- Service improvement, capacity, and availability plans
Documents that don't fit:
- Marketing collateral, case studies, or sales decks
- Empty templates with no project-specific content
- Contracts, pricing sheets, and commercial terms
- Source code or auto-generated documentation
- Anything already published on your public website or knowledge base
- Anything drafted primarily by an AI tool
What makes a solid archive
- Written by your practitioners in the course of real delivery work
- 3–10 pages of substantive content per document
- The reasoning is visible: what was considered, what was ruled out, and why
- Working drafts are welcome — assumptions, open questions, and unresolved debate make a document more valuable, not less
- Written in English
- Volume matters. We work with archives from 50 documents up to several thousand.
Anonymization and confidentiality
This is usually the first question, so here it is up front.
We strip client names, personnel names, system identifiers, IP addresses, internal URLs, and commercial figures before anything is used. You can run your own redaction pass first, and you review a sample of the processed output before the full set is accepted. Nothing is published, resold as documents, or attributed to your firm.
Compensation
$15 USD per accepted document. We review submissions within 1 day and give specific feedback rather than silently rejecting work. Contributors who consistently submit strong documents are invited into ongoing, higher-volume projects.
How to apply
Apply by submitting a 1 - 2 document sample in our marketplace, also let us know how many documents you have to contribute.
- If your documents fit, we'll follow up by email with onboarding and payment next steps.
