Description Burns & McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for BAS/EPMS Engineer interested in growing their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are in the process of establishing a team of BAS/EPMS engineers focused on design of control systems for Hyperscale Data Centers and Food & Consumer Product facilities. Project focus would also cover variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities in the North America region.
We are looking for a young and energetic candidate to join our Global Facilities business unit in Mumbai office to support BAS/EPMS design activities for above listed facilities. The engineer will be responsible for developing BAS/EPMS engineering design packages and calculations in support of new or retrofit projects. Specific duties include the following:
- Design BAS networks for HVAC, central utility plants, and environmental monitoring as per the requirements of each client and facility.
- Design EPMS architectures to monitor switchgear, UPS systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, and power distribution units.
- Develop system architecture and network communication diagrams for BACnet, Modbus, SNMP,and OPC networks.
Develop/Review BAS deliverables, including:
- Sequence of operations (SOO) and control narratives
- Direct digital control (DDC) panel design and layouts
- Input/output (I/O) point lists
- Valve, damper, and airflow station schedules
- Network riser diagrams
Develop/Review EPMS deliverables, including:
- Single-line diagram controls overlays
- Meter and relay point lists
- Alarm matrices
- Dashboard and human-machine interface (HMI) layouts
- Cable schedules and routing plans
- Review vendor drawing submittals for mechanical equipment and electrical switchgear to confirm controls integration compliance.
- Review DDC system programming, graphic screen development, and configuration for BAS and EPMS platforms.
- Perform quality reviews of project submittals.
- Develop designs that are compliant with prevalent codes, standards, and good engineering practices followed in the industry.
This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of interpreting and developing solutions to complex problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field from an accredited program or a recognized institute.
- Minimum four to six years of relevant experience. Experience in mission-critical facility design is aplus.
- Knowledge of common BAS and DDC platforms is preferred: Tridium Niagara, Automated LogicWebCTRL, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, or similar.
- Knowledge of common EPMS and SCADA platforms is preferred: Schneider PME, Eaton Foreseer, Ignition, Aveva, or similar.
- Solid understanding of building automation and industrial communication protocols like BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU/TCP, and SNMP.
- Hands-on CAD experience is a must. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
- Proficient in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Previous consulting engineering experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of databases, mainly Excel and Access.
