Data Privacy Consultant

Summary

We are recruiting an experienced Data Privacy Consultant to lead the development, execution, and oversight of comprehensive data privacy initiatives tailored to specific client needs. This pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring strict adherence to international data protection statutes while seamlessly integrating privacy-by-design methodologies into organizational workflows and technological infrastructures. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor, guiding the organization through complex regulatory landscapes and fortifying its data governance posture.

Location: PAN INDIA

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate organizational adherence to relevant data protection legislation and established privacy frameworks.
- Execute critical risk assessments, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), third-party evaluations, and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs).
- Architect and deploy robust privacy governance structures, including policies, operational procedures, and control mechanisms.
- Facilitate Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) protocols and oversee consent management lifecycles.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks associated with external vendors and third-party partners.
- Provide expert guidance on international data transfer mechanisms and corresponding regulatory obligations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across IT, Legal, Security, Compliance, and business units to embed privacy considerations into product and process design.
- Lead privacy audit preparations, regulatory reporting, and remediation efforts to close identified compliance gaps.




- Customize and configure privacy technology solutions, including workflows, modules, and system integrations, to meet specific client specifications.

Requirements

- Possess 5-12 years of professional experience in data privacy consulting, advisory, or related fields.
- Demonstrate deep expertise in global privacy regulations, specifically GDPR, DPDPA, CPRA/CCPA, and KSA-PDPL.
- Show proven track record in performing DPIAs/PIAs, Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs), vendor privacy reviews, and comprehensive data mapping exercises.
- Exhibit hands-on proficiency with leading privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, BigID, Securiti, or TrustArc.
- Have practical experience configuring privacy tool modules, workflows, or acting as an implementation consultant and integration specialist.
- Demonstrate competence in managing DSAR workflows and consent management strategies.
- Understand the architecture and implementation of Privacy Governance Frameworks.
- Possess working knowledge of industry standards including ISO 27701 and the NIST Privacy Framework.
- Display strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate complex privacy concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills & Certifications





- Hold recognized certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT from the IAPP.
- Have completed specialized training or certification for privacy platforms like OneTrust, BigID, Securiti, ServiceNow, or TrustArc.
- Bring prior experience in delivering privacy consulting or advisory services.
- Possess domain exposure within highly regulated sectors, including Banking/BFSI, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Telecom, or similar industries.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings 5-12 years of specialized experience in data privacy or consulting, with a robust command of GDPR, DPDPA, and CPRA regulations. They must demonstrate practical expertise in conducting DPIAs, PIAs, TIAs, and vendor assessments, alongside hands-on experience with platforms like OneTrust, BigID, or Security. Familiarity with DSAR processes, consent management, privacy governance, and standards such as ISO 27701 or NIST is essential. Possession of relevant IAPP certifications will be a significant advantage.
