Technologies is at a growing stage and current plant is in IDA Jeedimetla however we are looking for a larger production plant in an around of Hyderabad. We already have order in hand to deliver for this financial year in the tune of INR 120 CR.
Job Summary
Refroid Technologies is looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the engineering, product design, validation, and technical development of advanced data center cooling solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in liquid cooling and thermal management products, particularly Immersion Cooling Pods, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), Load Banks, heat exchangers, cooling loops, pumps, controls, and associated data center cooling infrastructure.
The candidate will be responsible for translating customer and business requirements into scalable products, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, and driving products from concept and design through prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturing, and commercial deployment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & Product Development
- Lead the complete engineering lifecycle of data center cooling products from concept development to production and deployment.
- Provide technical leadership for products such as:
- Immersion Cooling Pods
- Coolant Distribution Units (CDU) – Liquid-to-Liquid and Liquid-to-Air
- Load Banks
- Heat exchangers and thermal management systems
- Pumps, valves, piping, manifolds, controls, sensors, and cooling loops
- Establish engineering standards, design methodologies, product architectures, and development processes.
- Drive DFM/DFA, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost optimization.
2. Immersion Cooling Expertise
- Lead the engineering development of single-phase and/or two-phase immersion cooling systems.
- Understand thermal characteristics, coolant selection, flow distribution, heat rejection, pumping requirements, and system integration.
- Develop and validate immersion cooling pods/tanks and associated cooling infrastructure.
- Work closely with customers and data center teams to address system-level thermal and operational requirements.
3. CDU & Liquid Cooling Systems
- Provide technical leadership in the development of CDUs and liquid cooling systems.
- Understand system sizing, flow rates, pressure drops, heat loads, redundancy, pump selection, heat exchangers, controls, and instrumentation.
- Lead development of L2L and L2A CDU architectures for high-density data center applications.
- Ensure products meet required performance, reliability, safety, and scalability targets.
4. Load Bank Engineering
- Lead the engineering and development of data center load banks used for testing and commissioning of power and cooling infrastructure.
- Understand thermal loads, electrical interfaces, heat rejection, airflow/liquid cooling requirements, controls, instrumentation, and safety.
- Ensure load bank designs are suitable for data center testing and validation environments.
5. Thermal & Simulation
- Collaborate with thermal/CFD engineers to validate product performance.
- Review and guide CFD, thermal analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow, pressure drop, and system-level simulations.
- Translate simulation results into practical design improvements.
- Establish appropriate testing and validation methodologies to correlate simulation with physical performance.
6. R&D;, Testing & Validation
- Establish product development and validation plans.
- Lead prototype development, laboratory testing, performance validation, reliability testing, and design verification.
- Define engineering acceptance criteria and product performance benchmarks.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for product performance issues.
7. Manufacturing & Industrialization
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Operations teams to industrialize new products.
- Ensure engineering designs are suitable for factory-level manufacturing and assembly.
- Support supplier development, component qualification, and technical evaluation of vendors.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and design standardization initiatives.
8. Customer & Project Technical Leadership
- Engage with customers, data center operators, consultants, EPCs, and technology partners on technical requirements.
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning support, and customer escalations.
- Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and product roadmaps.
- Support business development and presales teams with technical solutions and product demonstrations.
9. Engineering Team Leadership
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization covering Mechanical, Thermal/CFD, Electrical, Controls, Product Design, and R&D;.
- Establish engineering goals, development plans, KPIs, and technical competency frameworks.
- Mentor engineers and develop strong technical leadership within the team.
- Allocate resources across multiple product development and customer projects.
10. Quality, Reliability & Compliance
- Establish engineering standards for quality, reliability, safety, and product performance.
- Ensure products comply with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive design FMEA, risk assessment, failure analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Work with Quality teams on product qualification and certification requirements.
Required Technical Expertise
- Robust knowledge of Data Center Cooling / Liquid Cooling / Thermal Management.
- Hands-on expertise in one or more of:
- Immersion Cooling
- CDU / Coolant Distribution Units
- Liquid-to-Liquid Cooling
- Liquid-to-Air Cooling
- Heat Exchangers
- Load Banks
- Chilled Water / Cooling Water Systems
- Pumps, valves and fluid systems
- Thermal management systems
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, pressure drop, flow distribution, and system sizing.
- Exposure to CFD/thermal simulation and engineering validation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical product development and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with engineering tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, ANSYS Fluent or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of engineering/product development experience, with significant leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong exposure to product development, R&D;, manufacturing, testing, and customer-facing engineering.
