About the jobWho We AreAgentR is a General Catalyst-backed seed-stage startup building self-learning systems. Today that ships two ways: WebCMD, the self-learning browser agent as a library/CLI for developers and coding agents, and SLAB, a Chrome alternative for consumers. This role is WebCMD. Do not apply if you want to market a consumer browser.
The RoleNot a brand marketer who needs a brief. Developer-native product marketer who owns how WebCMD shows up in the world — positioning, launches, content, and the channels developers actually use. Starts hands-on — writing, shipping posts, running launches, talking to users — and turns what works into a system the company can scale.
You May Be a Fit If You
- Worked product marketing or developer marketing at an early-stage OSS / dev-tools company (Seed–Series A ideal)
- Have shipped technical launches people remember — GitHub, HN, X, Product Hunt, newsletters — not just a blog post and a hope
- Write like a builder, not a brand: READMEs, launch posts, tutorials, docs narrative, threads. No "unlocking the future of"
- Speak credibly to developers and coding-agent users. You can explain why a compiled CLI is cheaper than re-browsing a site without a slide
- Know developer channels: GitHub, Reddit, HN, Discord, X, newsletters
- Understand the X algorithm and can write technical posts, threads, and demos that earn attention without bait
- Have a point of view on developer narrative — category, comparison, objection handling — and can hold it with founders
- Have run marketing experiments end-to-end (hypothesis → ship → measure → iterate) and turned wins into playbooks others can execute
3–5 years preferred, not required. Evidence of developer trust and launches that moved the needle matters more.
What You'll DoPositioning & narrative
- Own WebCMD's developer story with founders: what it is, who it's for, what it is not
- Keep WebCMD and SLAB distinct in public. This seat markets the library, not the consumer browser
- Shape category language, comparisons, and objection handling so the product is understood on first read
- Turn product capability into stories developers trust and share — cost, reliability, self-healing, not adjectives
Launches & developer channels
- Own launches: GitHub, HN, X, Reddit, newsletters, partner posts, talks
- Build an X content engine (topics, hooks, formats, timing) driven by performance data
- Build Reddit social listening and trust-based promotion playbooks, respecting subreddit rules
- Experiment across GitHub, Reddit, HN, X, LinkedIn, Discord, newsletters, and partnerships
- Define metrics, measure, iterate, document winning playbooks, scale via team
Technical content
- Own README narrative, docs story, examples, launch posts
- Write blogs, tutorials, community posts, case studies
- Produce video: demos, updates, technical walkthroughs, X articles
- Make the product obvious: install, first command, first win
Founder-level ownership
- Work with product/eng so onboarding, activation, and the public story match the product
- Feed market and user language into roadmap and packaging
- Help define long-term OSS / developer GTM
- Build and lead the developer marketing function as the company scales
- Own outcomes, not activity
Who You'll Work WithFounders directly, product/eng, global developers and OSS contributors, and content/video/design/SEO agencies. High-trust, high-autonomy environment with real ownership from day one. Where & WhenFull-time, in-office in Bangalore, alongside the founding team. Primary overlap with Indian working hours; occasional coordination with global communities.
Compensation
- ₹30 LPA cash, flexible up to ₹50 LPA for proven profiles
- Up to 1% equity with real upside
- Comp scales with the business
- Transparent path to GTM Lead, CMO, or founder-level leadership
