Job Title: GitHub Platform Engineer / GitHub DevOps Engineer
Location: Pan India
Exp: 12+ years
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled GitHub Platform Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms leveraging GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Kubernetes, and AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DevOps, platform engineering, CI/CD modernization, security integration, and infrastructure automation.
This role will be responsible for building scalable developer platforms, enhancing software delivery processes, implementing DevSecOps practices, and driving the migration of legacy CI/CD systems to GitHub-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows supporting CI/CD across multiple repositories and environments (Development, Staging, and Production).
- Build, manage, and optimize self-hosted Actions Runner Controller (ARC) runners on Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), including autoscaling, pod identity, security controls, and network policies.
- Integrate and operationalize GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) capabilities such as Secret Scanning, Push Protection, Code Scanning (CodeQL), and Dependency Review.
- Lead migration of legacy CI/CD tools including Jenkins, TeamCity, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild to GitHub Actions.
- Implement and enforce repository governance standards including branch protection rules, required status checks, deployment approvals, and workplace protection policies.
- Develop reusable workflows, composite actions, and CI/CD templates to standardize delivery processes across engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Information Security teams to embed DevSecOps practices including SAST, DAST, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and secrets management.
- Administer GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) environments, including organization management, SCIM provisioning, Okta integration, team administration, and repository governance.
- Configure monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting for CI/CD platforms using tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar observability solutions.
- Automate infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, and compliance across enterprise software delivery environments.
- Drive platform improvements, automation initiatives, and best practices for software engineering teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills
- Strong experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) and GitHub administration.
- Experience implementing GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) features including:
- Secret Scanning
- Push Protection
- CodeQL
- Dependency Review
- Expertise in Kubernetes administration, preferably Amazon EKS.
- Experience managing Actions Runner Controller (ARC) runners.
- Strong understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles.
- Experience migrating CI/CD platforms from Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with source control management and repository governance.
