Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon based in Bengaluru North. The surgeon will perform elective and emergency general surgical and laparoscopic procedures, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative management, and post-operative care. Daily responsibilities include outpatient consultations, inpatient ward rounds, clinical decision-making, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.

The role involves interpreting diagnostic reports, developing treatment plans, counseling patients and families, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols and hospital policies. The surgeon will also participate in quality improvement activities, clinical documentation, infection control practices,



and may contribute to teaching and mentoring clinical staff.

Qualifications

- Robust clinical skills in general surgery, including elective and emergency procedures, with proficiency in laparoscopic techniques.
- Ability to perform thorough patient evaluation, clinical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Competence in perioperative care, including pain management, post-operative monitoring, and management of surgical complications.
- Effective communication and counseling skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, infection control, ethical medical practice, and adherence to hospital protocols and clinical guidelines.
- MD/MS or DNB in General Surgery (or equivalent recognized qualification) from an accredited institution; fellowship or advanced training in laparoscopic surgery is an advantage.
- Valid medical registration with relevant statutory bodies and eligibility to practice as a surgeon.
- Prior experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a high-volume surgical department; experience in community healthcare is beneficial.

- Ability to work in a high-demand environment, manage on-call duties, and collaborate effectively with anesthesiology, ICU, and emergency teams.
- Interest in continuous learning, participation in CMEs, and contribution to departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives.
