Role Description The GC and GCMS Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida. The role involves operating and maintaining Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) instruments for routine and specialized analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished cosmetic products. The operator will prepare samples, run analytical methods, interpret chromatograms and mass spectra, and document test results in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting instrument issues, performing calibrations and preventive maintenance, supporting R&D; and quality control teams with analytical data, and ensuring accurate,
timely reporting. The role also requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve processes and support product development.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust analytical chemistry skills, including experience with GC and GCMS operation, method development or optimization, and data interpretation.
- Candidates should possess practical laboratory skills such as sample preparation, use of standard operating procedures, calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments, and accurate record-keeping.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of quality control and regulatory standards relevant to cosmetics, personal care, or related industries, including familiarity with validation, documentation, and reporting practices.
- Candidates should possess effective problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work with R&D;, production, and quality teams, along with the ability to follow safety guidelines and laboratory protocols.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field is preferred; prior experience in GC/GCMS within cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG is an advantage.
