About the role Marklytics builds Digital Product Passport (DPP) infrastructure for manufacturers preparing for EU regulatory compliance. Our platform issues verifiable product passports for batteries, solar modules and vehicles, currently serving four enterprise manufacturing clients across the UK, India and Southeast Asia.
What you will own
- AWS infrastructure across dev, staging and production, defined as code (CDK or Terraform)
- CI/CD pipelines, release process and workplace promotion
- Observability: structured logging, metrics, alerting, and being able to answer "what happened" when a client asks
- Application backend work: APIs, data models, background jobs and integration endpoints
- Frontend contribution to the platform and to client-facing passport surfaces
- Infrastructure cost: understanding it, reporting it, and keeping per-passport unit cost in line
- What we expect you to have done
- Built and shipped production web applications end to end, not only worked on an assigned slice
- Deployed and operated services on AWS yourself, rather than handing off to a separate DevOps team
- Written infrastructure as code, and understood why it matters
- Debugged a production problem you could not reproduce locally
- Worked with a relational database beyond basic CRUD: indexes, migrations and query performance
Required
- 3–4 years of professional full-stack engineering experience
- Strong backend: Node.js/TypeScript or Python, REST API design and PostgreSQL
- Frontend: React and TypeScript, with comfort owning a feature from schema to screen
- Hands-on AWS: ECS or Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch and VPC basics
- Infrastructure as code: AWS CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Git discipline, meaningful participation in code review, and tests as normal practice
- Clear written English — architecture decisions and escalations happen in writing
Valued, not required
- Multi-tenant SaaS experience
- Manufacturing, supply chain, ESG or compliance domain exposure
- Data pipeline or ETL work, particularly with messy supplier or ERP data
- Cryptographic signing, hashing or verifiable data structures
- AWS certification (treated as supporting evidence, never as a substitute for hands-on work)
