About the Role:

We are looking for detail-oriented freelancers to transcribe and annotate conversational audio clips (Telugu,Tamil,Hindi). You’ll be adding rich detail to audio datasets-not just transcribing words, but also tagging vocal events (coughs, whispers), background noises (traffic, fans), and speaker attributes.

What You’ll Do:

- Follow a 4-pass workflow:
- Transcribe speech word-for-word (including fillers like um, uh).
- Add punctuation based on tone and tag vocal sounds (, , ).
- Mark background noise (fan hums, traffic, phone rings) on timeline tracks.
- Finalize the transcript with proper tags and language markers.

Apply language rules:

- Transliterate single loanwords into the native script.
- Wrap full foreign phrases in tags.
- Always write filler words (um, uh) in English/Latin script.

Requirements:

- Native or fluent speaker of the target language + good English comprehension.
- 1-2 years of experience.
- Great listening skills (able to catch faint background speech and subtle sounds).
- Positive grasp of native grammar and punctuation rules.
- Careful attention to detail and ability to follow strict tagging rules.
