Role Description We are seeking a reliable and organised Faculty Supply Technician to provide vital operational support to our Biology, Chemistry, and School of Physics, Engineering and Technology facilities. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team ensuring that staff and students have the essential materials and equipment needed for daily teaching and research. If you are a practical, computer-literate individual looking for a hands-on position at the centre of campus operations, we welcome your application.

Role

As part of the wider FS team, you will be expected to work across any of the three sites in response to workload demands and staffing levels. The FS team undertakes customer-driven duties to support the staff and students and the teaching and research of the academic departments. The role holder’s duties include receipting and processing goods and fulfilling in-house stock requisitions using the university’s stock and purchasing management system, ordering consignment and departmental stock, and handling specialist materials such as hazardous chemicals, biological samples,



laboratory waste, and high-value and/or large specialist scientific equipment.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

- A-Level, HNC, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations & procedures, for example COSHH
- Ability to perform routine practical tasks with attention to detail
- Able to manage own time, use initiative, work to deadlines
- IT skills inc.

- Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team
- Prepare accurate, clear and concise documentation
- Dependable, reliable and self-motivated
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students
