Role Description The DO-178 Cert Engineer is a full time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting software certification activities in accordance with DO-178B guidelines, including requirements analysis, verification, and compliance evidence generation. The engineer collaborates with design, development, and quality teams to ensure avionics software artifacts meet regulatory and customer requirements.

Daily tasks include reviewing and auditing life-cycle documents, supporting certification and qualification efforts, coordinating with external certification agencies, and contributing to process improvements aligned with applicable standards. The role also requires clear reporting on certification status,



risks, and mitigation plans to project leadership.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of DO-178B (and preferably DO-178C) processes, including planning, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and configuration management.
- Experience with avionics or safety-critical embedded software development and certification, including familiarity with DO-254 and related aerospace or automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Proficiency in creating and reviewing technical documentation such as plans, requirements specifications, design descriptions, test cases, test procedures, and certification reports.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems, software, hardware, and quality engineering, and to interface with certification authorities or customer representatives.
- Solid understanding of reliability, maintainability, and safety concepts, as well as configuration management and change control practices.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in safety-critical systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and audits.
- Experience with industrial automation or automotive domains and familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS 9001 quality management standards is an advantage.
