About the Role:

We are looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer to own our infrastructure end-to-end—from initial setup and automation to production operations and scaling. This is a hands-on ownership role where you will build cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability and security practices from the ground up. You will also play an key role in preparing our technology environment for enterprise deployments and security/compliance certifications such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud & Infrastructure

- Build and manage cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
- Design secure, scalable and highly available environments.
- Manage access, secrets, networking and infrastructure security.
- Continuously improve infrastructure reliability and performance.

2. CI/CD & Deployment

- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
- Automate testing, deployment and release processes.
- Implement zero-downtime and blue-green deployments.
- Improve release reliability and deployment speed.

3. Monitoring & Observability

- Build observability from the ground up across logging, metrics and alerting.
- Establish proactive monitoring to identify issues before they impact customers.
- Support production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

4. Data, Backup & Reliability

- Manage production PostgreSQL and Redis environments.
- Establish backup, recovery and disaster-recovery practices.
- Ensure data reliability, availability and security.

Security & Compliance

- Support SOC 2 / ISO 27001 readiness and certification initiatives.
- Implement access controls, security hardening and evidence-collection processes.
- Establish secure secrets and credential management practices.

6. Infrastructure Automation & Cost Optimisation

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Monitor and optimise infrastructure and cloud costs as usage scales.

Qualifications & Experience

- 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
- 2–4 years may be considered for candidates with strong fundamentals and hands-on ownership.

Required Technical Skills

- Cloud Infrastructure – AWS/Azure/GCP & Linux
- CI/CD – GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform / CloudFormation
- Containers – Docker & container-based deployments
- Monitoring – Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog or similar
- Scripting – Bash and/or Python
- Databases – PostgreSQL & Redis
- Security & Compliance – SOC 2 / ISO 27001 exposure
- Production Operations – Deployment, backup, recovery & troubleshooting

Preferred Skills

- Kubernetes / Container Orchestration
- Python/FastAPI production deployments
- RQ / Celery or similar background job queues
- Cloud cost & performance optimisation
- AI/LLM infrastructure or API cost optimisation
- Vanta / Drata or similar compliance automation platforms
- Experience building enterprise-ready infrastructure

Pay range and compensation package
