We’re Hiring: Detail-Oriented Video Editor
Full-Time | Long-Term Role | Corporate & Branded Video Post-Production
DGC Edits is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Video Editor for a long-term dedicated role working closely with one of our European production partners.
This is not a role for someone who simply loves flashy transitions, trendy reels or heavy YouTube-style editing.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing skilled work properly.
Someone who enjoys:
- Keeping timelines clean
- Organizing project files perfectly
- Following an established editing system
- Checking every title, lower third and graphic carefully
- Watching the final video again before exporting
- Catching small mistakes before somebody else does
- Communicating clearly when something is unclear
- Delivering consistently and on time
If you are the type of editor who feels satisfied when a project is clean, organized, accurate and professionally finished, we want to speak with you.
What You’ll Be Working On
You will primarily work on corporate videos, customer stories, interviews, event/congress content and social-media cut-downs for international clients.
Typical work may include:
- Creating alternate edits from existing interview footage
- Editing corporate interviews and B-roll
- Creating social-media versions from finished videos
- Working from established master timelines and templates
- Updating lower thirds and motion graphics
- Making revisions across multiple versions of a project
- Maintaining consistency across a complete video package
- Checking names, titles, subtitles, branding and graphics
- Organizing timelines, footage and project files
- Reviewing every video carefully before delivery
Some projects can go through 5–10 rounds of client revisions,
so attention to detail and project organization are extremely important. SoftwareDaVinci Resolve is strongly preferred.
However, if you are already a strong Premiere Pro editor and are genuinely willing to transition to DaVinci Resolve, we are open to considering you.
Mid Range knowledge of After Effects is required. You should be comfortable opening existing motion-graphics projects, changing text/names, exporting graphics and integrating them into the edit.
What Matters Most to Us
We are NOT primarily hiring based on how flashy your showreel looks.
We care much more about:
- Attention to DetailYou notice:
- Incorrect names
- Wrong job titles
- Spelling mistakes
- Inconsistent fonts
- Incorrect graphics
- Audio issues
- Missing transitions
- Incorrect exports
- Small differences between a reference and your edit
Ideally, you catch these things before the client does.
- OrganizationYour project should make sense not only to you, but to another editor opening it six months later.
We expect
- Clean timelines
- Proper folder structures
- Correct file naming
- Organized assets
- Proper version management
- No missing files or unnecessary clutter
3. ReliabilityIf you say something will be delivered at 5 PM, we should not need to chase you at 7 PM asking where it is. If there is a problem or delay, you communicate early.
Working StyleYou will work closely with:
- DGC Edits
- A European production-company founder
- Senior editors and motion designers
There will be direct communication, regular feedback and clear expectations. You should be comfortable asking questions, receiving professional feedback and improving your workflow over time.
Who This Role Is NOT ForPlease do not apply if:
- You only want to edit YouTube videos or reels
- You get bored quickly with corporate editing
- You dislike revisions
- Your timelines and folders are usually messy
- You regularly send drafts without watching them fully
- You need someone to remind you about deadlines
- You disappear when a project becomes difficult
- You are unwilling to learn DaVinci Resolve
- You are constantly switching jobs or freelance clients
This will not be a portfolio-only recruitment process.
Shortlisted candidates will go through:
1. Portfolio review
2. Interview
3. Practical editing test
4. Attention-to-detail and QC evaluation
5. Workflow/project-organization assessment
6. Final discussion with DGC
7. Final client interaction for selected editor
The practical test may intentionally contain small inconsistencies and details that need to be identified. We want to understand how you think and work, not only what effects you know.
