CATIA Design Engineer – Aerospace

About the Role

We are seeking experienced CATIA Design Engineers to support the design and development of aircraft interior and floor-covering components. The role involves 3D modelling, Model-Based Definition, engineering drawing preparation, design modifications, and product-data management using ENOVIA PLM. The engineer will collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to deliver accurate designs that meet aerospace standards, customer requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform 3D CAD modelling and design of aircraft interior and floor-covering components using CATIA V5.
- Develop and maintain Model-Based Definition (MBD) data, including:
- Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
- Dimensions and tolerances
- Annotations
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;)
- Create, modify, and update 2D engineering drawings as required.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design requirements.
- Support design modifications and engineering changes for Boeing 787 floor-covering and interior components.
- Manage and update engineering data using ENOVIA PLM.
- Perform product and data releases while maintaining accurate engineering information in the PLM environment.




- Coordinate with engineering, checking/quality, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with applicable aerospace standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
- Complete assigned engineering deliverables within agreed project timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Production, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–6 years of total engineering experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5.
- Practical experience in Model-Based Definition (MBD).
- Experience working with ENOVIA PLM.
- Strong experience in 3D modelling and 2D engineering drawing creation or modification.
- Working knowledge of GD&T; and tolerance fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Willingness to work from Chennai throughout the assignment.
