About the Role

We are looking for a Chemical Engineer with strong process engineering expertise to support application engineering, proposal development, and cost estimation for engineered process systems and modular plants. The role requires combining technical knowledge with commercial understanding to develop competitive customer solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Application Engineering

- Understand customer requirements and develop optimized technical solutions for engineered systems and standalone equipment.
- Apply strong knowledge of chemical and pharmaceutical processes and unit operations including reaction, distillation, evaporation, crystallization, extraction, filtration, drying, and mixing.
- Understanding PFDs, P&IDs;, and plant layouts.
- Perform and review process calculations and simulations using ASPEN Plus or equivalent process simulation software.
- Knowledge of process equipment including Wiped Film Evaporators (WFE), Agitated Thin Film Evaporators (ATFE), Agitated Thin Film Dryers (ATFD), distillation columns, column internals & packings, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
- Knowledge of vacuum technology and vacuum systems.
- Basic understanding of instrumentation, control loops, and industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and MCC.
- Knowledge of industrial pumps, valves, and their selection based on process and application requirements.

Proposal & Estimation

- Prepare and review technical proposals and cost estimates for process plants and standalone process equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical evaluation, quotation, and validation of bought-out process equipment and components.
- Knowledge of engineering deliverables, documentation, quality requirements,



certifications, FAT/SAT procedures, commercial terms & conditions, and delivery terms for process equipment and projects.
- Ensure compliance with global design codes, certifications, and regional regulatory standards, including ASME, U Stamp, PED, CE, ATEX, SELO, GOST, MOM, and other applicable local requirements.
- Ensure compliance with process safety principles, including hazardous area classification, HAZOP, and electrical equipment protection levels (EPL).
- Support commercial negotiations by providing techno-commercial risk assessments and value-engineering inputs.
- Support cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance proposal competitiveness.
- Knowledge of commercial terms & conditions, delivery terms, contracts, and Incoterms applicable to process equipment and turnkey projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with R&D;, sales, design, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and commercial commitments.
- Support business development by participating in technical discussions, customer meetings, and bid clarification meetings.

Desired Profile

- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of experience in process engineering, application engineering, proposal, estimation, or techno-commercial roles.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, or oil & gas industries will be an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with pilot plants or laboratory operations will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
