What we do:
YEMI primarily focuses on manufacturing of Industrial Engines and sales and service of the Industrial Engines/Agricultural Products/ Marine (Small – Medium & Large) Engines. Additionally, YEMI is running a full-fledged R&D; center, with the vision of developing a global R&D; center in India and to provide the cost and technological merits of India to the Yanmar Group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Labour & Blue-Collar HR Management –
- HR Life cycle management of “Supervisor & Below” & plant “shopfloor” cadre employees (trainees, contract workers) etc. (Blue Collared employment category)
- Facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
- Frequent auditing of the manpower vendors.
- Strong eye on all compliance related to manpower rotation etc.
- Talent Management and second line development for supervisors and shopfloor employees.
- Close coordination with Safety function to foster a culture of safety.
- Employee Relations & Engagement –
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives.
- Implement programs to enhance employee morale, motivation, and retention.
- Organize and oversee employee welfare activities, including health and safety programs.
- Act as a bridge between employees and management, ensuring effective communication and addressing concerns.
Industrial Relations –
- Lead and manage industrial relations strategies to maintain harmonious labor relations in a manufacturing set up.
- Exposure to handle union & related matters.
- Address and resolve labor disputes, conflicts, and strikes while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Foster a cooperative relationship between management and employees/unions.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations and maintain a peaceful industrial environment.
- Dispute management with government bodies etc.
Statutory & Labour Law Compliance –
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, industrial laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a compliance framework to ensure the factory adheres to legal and ethical standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports and documentation to regulatory authorities.
- Implement corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings.
Factory Administration –
- Overview of Facility Management of factory
- Control of Vendor management
- Overall ownership of effective management of Housekeeping, Transport, Canteen, Store etc.
- Ownership of Budget making & controlling expenses related to factory HR & Admin.
- Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Overall custodian of matters related to Factory Administration.
Reporting & Documentation –
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to HR, IR, and compliance activities.
- Prepare and present reports on key HR metrics, industrial relations, and compliance status to senior management.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of employee data and sensitive information.
Education and Work Experience Requirements -
- Preferably exposure from Auto / ancillary companies. Engine companies like – Cummins, Caterpillar, Perkins, Kohler etc. (MNC exposure is a MUST)
- Tamil language proficiency
- Solid knowledge of labor laws, Industrial relations, compliance frameworks
- Very strong communication skills, Negotiation skills & leadership skills.
- Ability to manage conflicts & resolve disputes effectively.
Education - Master’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field (Full Time degree)
Experience - 18- 20 yrs. experience in related Industry
