Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the GDPR implementation and compliance efforts across the organization.
- Conduct thorough GDPR risk assessments and impact analyses.
- Develop and implement GDPR compliance policies and procedures.
- Train and educate staff on GDPR requirements and best practices.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Monitor data protection compliance and data processing activities.
- Manage data breach response and reporting procedures.
- Perform regular audits to ensure ongoing GDPR compliance.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data protection laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure the implementation of technical safeguards.
- Document and maintain records of processing activities.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in data protection, privacy laws, or GDPR compliance.
- Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar is mandatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with data protection impact assessments, data protection principles, and data breach management.
Skills and Competencies
- Deep understanding of data protection and privacy regulations along with Project management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to privacy and data protection.
- Proficiency in using data protection management tools and software.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a similar role within a multinational organization.
- Familiarity with other global data protection regulations such as CCPA, HIPAA, APPI, DPDPA, POPIA, PIPEDA etc.
- Experience in a legal advisory role or as a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
