About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst specializing in healthcare data to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing large-scale healthcare datasets, developing data models, and supporting integration efforts to enhance our analytics capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including healthcare operations, finance, clinical, and compliance to deliver actionable insights and improve healthcare outcomes.
Your expertise in SQL, healthcare data modeling, and data visualization will be instrumental in building scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Additionally, you will contribute to process documentation, system architecture design, and stakeholder communication to support our strategic initiatives in value-based care, population health, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Analytics, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience working with US healthcare datasets, including benefits, claims, and eligibility data, is essential. Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing complex healthcare data is required, along with familiarity with modern data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake and MySQL.
Experience in creating healthcare process and data flow documentation using tools like Microsoft Visio or draw.io is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst in healthcare, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing large healthcare datasets, including claims, eligibility, provider, utilization, and quality data to generate meaningful reports and insights.
- Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze healthcare data from relational databases.
- Performing data validation, reconciliation, and transformation processes to ensure data accuracy and support regulatory reporting requirements.
- Developing and maintaining healthcare data models, marts, and analytics layers using Snowflake, MySQL, and related platforms.
- Collaborating with data engineering teams to facilitate reliable data ingestion and integration from source systems such as claims processing and provider systems.
- Supporting analytics initiatives related to value-based care, population health, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Creating process flows, data lineage diagrams, and system architecture visuals to document healthcare data workflows using tools like Microsoft Visio or draw.io.
- Documenting healthcare business rules, data definitions, metrics logic, and reporting methodologies to standardize metrics aligned with healthcare programs.
- Partnering with stakeholders across healthcare operations, finance, clinical, quality,
and compliance teams to understand reporting needs and translate data into actionable insights.
- Presenting findings, trends, and strategic recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
