About Us
India grows some of the finest coffee in the world, yet much of it still gets traded as a commodity. Quality is often compromised during processing, traceability is limited, and small- and mid-sized growers rarely see their end product. Through SoCoffee and The Coorg Coffee Club, we work across storytelling, specialty coffee processing, products, and experiences to bring more of India’s coffee to people in India and around the world.
We’re backed by a group of well-known founders and entrepreneurs, including Shradha Sharma (YourStory), Naveen Tewari (InMobi & Glance), Ankit Agrawal and Ish Babbar (InsuranceDekho), among others. As a technology-forward company, InMobi was a natural fit for our first coffee kiosk, giving us the opportunity to bring our coffee directly to a like-minded, tech-driven community at their Bangalore headquarters.
We’re a young, growing team building from the ground up, and there’s a lot to learn, make, and experiment with along the way. We sit at the intersection of coffee, content, and technology, reimagining how Indian coffee is grown, processed, and experienced.
Karum, the founder, is a 3rd-generation coffee grower, an ex-entrepreneur, and has been deeply involved in the startup-tech space.
Why Content Matters at SoCoffee
SoCoffee is a farm-to-cup and farm-to-phone company, and storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. Indian coffee is world-class, yet under-recognised. We’re among the few countries producing shade-grown, eco-diverse coffee, yet its global branding hasn’t caught up with its quality. We believe that great coffee needs great storytelling stories of people, processes, and passion. And sharp storytelling should help create both the market and brand for Indian coffee over time.
Our content aims to do exactly that:
- Build awareness for the excellence of Indian coffee & the people behind it.
- Bridge the perception gap between product quality and brand storytelling.
- Create emotional connection and curiosity through stories, visuals, and experiences.
Every piece of content we create, whether a story, a reel, or a conversation, sits at the intersection of education, emotion, and experience. You can see some of the content here.
About the Role
This is a Content role that brings together storytelling, research, and execution.
You’ll work across SoCoffee’s content, from long-form coffee stories and explainers to social media narratives, interviews, and brand campaigns. You’ll work closely with the Content Associate to research ideas, develop stories, create content, and keep the content calendar moving.
This is an entry-level role for someone who is curious, sharp, and genuinely interested in content, someone who enjoys going beyond the obvious, understands that good storytelling starts with good research, and wants to learn how a content-led brand is built.
The six qualities that matter most for this role
1. Natural pulse for content: You have a good sense of what makes content interesting, whether it is writing, social, or video. You are curious about trends, formats, and storytelling styles that people connect with.
2. Curious thinker: You like asking why something should exist, who it is for, what makes it interesting, and what we want people to take away from it. You can think beyond just making content and understand its purpose.
3. Deep interest in coffee: You do not have to be a coffee expert on day one, but you should genuinely want to become one. You will speak with growers, roasters, and others across the coffee ecosystem and learn to tell their stories with nuance and authenticity.
4. Organised and reliable: You are comfortable working with content calendars, deadlines, research, follow-ups, and multiple pieces of content at different stages. You make sure things move forward and get done well.
5. Strong with words AI: You enjoy writing and can adapt your tone and structure across formats. You are also comfortable using AI tools for research, brainstorming, structuring, and content development, and you are excited to learn how to use them more effectively.
6. Hands on: You can put together a simple creative on Canva or edit a reel using basic editing tools when needed. You do not need to be a designer or editor, but being comfortable with these tools helps you understand the process and work better with designers and editors.
What This Role Involves
- Content execution: Take ideas from the content calendar and turn them into finished,
publish-ready pieces across social, media, and other channels.
- Content creation: Research, write, edit, and create content with a clear point of view and understanding of its objective.
- Content calendar: Help maintain and execute the content calendar, ensuring pieces move from idea to research to creation to publishing on time.
- Social media: Prepare, schedule, publish, and maintain content across SoCoffee's social channels, while ensuring consistency in voice and presentation.
- Brand voice: Learn SoCoffee's tone and narrative style and apply it consistently across everything you create.
- Performance analysis: Track basic content performance, identify what is working and what is not, and use those learnings to improve future content.
- Day-to-day content operations: Help with research, interviews, content archives, asset organisation, shoot coordination, and whatever else is needed to keep the content engine moving.
Who You Are
- 0–2 years of experience in content creation, communication, or community-oriented roles. You have some sample content to showcase either at a personal or skilled level
- Strong foundation in copywriting, research, and storytelling.
- Familiarity with social and digital platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Good coordination and project management skills.
- Interest in or willingness to go deep into coffee
- Experience or interest in using AI tools across the board
- Bonus: Basic design & video sensibility
You’ll Enjoy This Role If
- You love content and storytelling that creates both emotion and clarity.
- You’re curious about Indian coffee and want to help shape its global identity.
- You like combining creativity with data - experimenting, measuring, and improving.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with open-ended problem statements.
- You’re motivated by ownership, learning, and building something that matters.
