ABOUT THE ROLE
Rapross Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. is an integrated pharmaceutical manufacturer with a cGMP-compliant production facility and a portfolio spanning anti-allergics, anti-fungals, anti-cold preparations, analgesics and anti-inflammatories, haemostats, probiotics and nutraceuticals.
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to grow the plant's business-to-business revenue across both domestic and overseas channels. The role covers contract and third-party manufacturing within India, direct exports to non-regulated and semi-regulated markets, and indirect exports routed through merchant exporters and trading houses.
You will own the full enquiry-to-realisation cycle — sourcing leads, quoting, coordinating feasibility and documentation with production, QA and regulatory, and following each order through to dispatch and payment. It is an ideal first role for a pharmacy graduate who wants a broad commercial foundation rather than a narrow field-sales beat. No prior export experience is required; documentation, Incoterms and export finance will be taught on the job.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (BOTH CHANNELS)
- Build and maintain a pipeline of B2B prospects and keep enquiry, quotation, conversion and order records current and accurate.
- Capture client requirements precisely — molecule, strength, dosage form, pack size, batch size, packaging — and route them to production, F&D; and QA for feasibility and costing.
- Prepare product lists, rate lists, quotations and proforma invoices; negotiate price, payment terms and minimum order quantities within approved margin limits.
- Coordinate samples, artwork and packaging material approvals, and contract or purchase documentation.
- Track every order from purchase order to dispatch with planning, stores, QC and logistics, keeping the client informed of realistic timelines.
- Coordinate with QA and Regulatory Affairs on the documents clients ask for — manufacturing licence, product permission, GMP certificate, COA, method of analysis,
stability data.
- Support the accounts team on payment follow-up, reconciliation and collection of outstanding dues.
- Submit weekly and monthly reports on pipeline, orders booked, dispatches and collections; share competitor pricing and market feedback with management.
TRACK A — DOMESTIC (B2B & CONTRACT MANUFACTURING)
- Develop pharmaceutical marketing companies, PCD and franchise players, distributors, and institutional and government buyers across India.
- Generate enquiries through B2B portals (IndiaMART, TradeIndia, Pharmabiz), LinkedIn, trade directories, industry exhibitions and referrals.
- Handle third-party and loan-licence manufacturing enquiries end to end, including agreement documentation and licence transfer formalities.
- Ensure every commercial commitment is consistent with CDSCO / State FDA requirements and internal quality standards.
- Serve as the first point of contact for assigned domestic accounts — order status, complaints, repeat business and relationship building.
TRACK B — INTERNATIONAL (DIRECT & INDIRECT EXPORTS)
- Identify and develop importers, distributors, agents and institutional/tender buyers in non-regulated and semi-regulated markets across Africa, the CIS, Latin America and South-East Asia.
- Generate leads through B2B portals, LinkedIn, Pharmexcil and trade-council databases, embassy and commercial-mission contacts, buyer-seller meets and exhibitions (CPHI Worldwide, iPHEX, Africa Health, Medica).
- Develop and service the indirect export channel — merchant exporters and trading houses — by sharing product and price lists, responding promptly to enquiries and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Quote on the correct Incoterms (EXW, FOB, CIF, CFR) with accurate freight, packing, insurance and lead-time inputs; negotiate payment terms (advance TT, LC at sight, DP/DA).
- Work with Regulatory Affairs and QA on dossiers in the format each market requires (CTD / ACTD or country-specific), along with COPP, WHO-GMP and free-sale certificates, and track registration status, renewals and query responses with each distributor.
- Support export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, health and free-sale certificates, chamber of commerce attestation and embassy legalisation, shipping bill, bill of lading / airway bill — with the CHA and freight forwarder.
- Check letter-of-credit terms before shipment to ensure discrepancy-free documents; coordinate with the bank and accounts team on realisation and e-BRC closure.
- Coordinate destination-specific artwork, labelling and shelf-life requirements with F&D;, QA and the packaging team.
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
- Education: B.Pharm is the minimum requirement. M.Pharm or an MBA in Marketing, International Business or Pharmaceutical Management is an added advantage.
- Experience: 0–2 years. Freshers with a genuine interest in commercial roles will be trained; any exposure to pharma B2B, third-party manufacturing, export documentation or regulatory affairs is a distinct plus.
- English: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory and will be assessed at interview — it is the working language of our quotations, agreements and all overseas correspondence.
- Foreign languages: Knowledge of a foreign language is a robust added advantage and will be valued at selection — French (Francophone Africa), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil and Lusophone Africa), Russian (CIS), Arabic (Middle East and North Africa) or Chinese. Working fluency in Hindi is required for domestic client interaction.
- Technical: MS Excel, Word and Outlook; ability to draft clear business emails and read a costing sheet. Familiarity with Incoterms, HS codes and basic export finance is an advantage.
- Behavioural: Strong communication and negotiation skills, cultural sensitivity, meticulous attention to documentation detail, persistence in follow-up and comfort working to targets.
- Working hours: Flexibility to take occasional calls or correspond outside standard hours to accommodate overseas buyer time zones.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within India for client meetings, plant visits and exhibitions. A valid passport (or willingness to obtain one immediately) for overseas exhibitions and buyer visits.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Structured on-the-job training across pharmaceutical B2B selling, product costing, contract manufacturing, export documentation, Incoterms, letters of credit and overseas product registration.
- Exposure to both domestic and international business from the outset — a broader commercial grounding than a single-channel role offers.
- Direct access to the manufacturing plant, production planning and regulatory documentation, and to domestic and international trade exhibitions.
- Salary as per industry standards, commensurate with experience, plus performance-linked incentives on achievement of targets.
- A defined growth path to Senior Executive and Business Development / International Business Manager, with the option to specialise in either channel as the business grows.
