About the Role

URC Construction is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented MEP BIM Design Engineer to join our Corporate Office in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in BIM-based MEP design and modelling for building/construction projects and should be capable of coordinating MEP services with architectural and structural disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain MEP BIM models for building and construction projects.
- Prepare and update BIM models for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and other MEP services.
- Create detailed 2D drawings, layouts, sections and coordinated MEP drawings from BIM models.
- Coordinate MEP services with Architectural and Structural BIM models.
- Identify and resolve clashes/interferences between MEP systems and other disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and incorporate required design changes.
- Prepare shop drawings, coordinated drawings and as-built drawings as required.
- Ensure BIM models and drawings comply with project specifications, standards and design requirements.
- Review models and drawings for accuracy,



completeness and constructability.
- Coordinate with Design, Planning, Execution and Project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of BIM models and drawings.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience in BIM modelling and MEP design.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP is mandatory.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM coordination processes.
- Good understanding of MEP systems and building services.
- Knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and coordination will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and understand MEP, architectural and structural drawings.
- Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.

Education

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical engineering discipline.

Preferred Experience

- 1–4 years of relevant experience in MEP BIM modelling/design.
- Experience in building/high-rise/commercial/hospital projects will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in Revit MEP and BIM coordination are preferred.
