Role Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and experienced AVP – Engineering, Design & Renovation to lead the end-to-end technical execution of renovation, refurbishment, revamp and engineering projects across Ridhira Retreats.
The role requires a robust blend of hospitality engineering, MEP expertise, project management, design coordination and on-site execution. The successful candidate will bridge architectural and design intent with practical engineering execution while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with Ridhira's brand and guest experience standards.
This role is based in Hyderabad and requires extensive travel to project locations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end renovation, revamp, refurbishment and retrofit projects across heritage hotels, retreats, boutique villas and wellness spaces.
- Develop project execution plans, timelines, budgets and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within approved budgets.
- Identify project risks, cost overruns and execution challenges and provide timely solutions.
- Prepare regular project status reports, cost variance reports and risk updates for senior leadership.
Engineering & Technical Delivery
- Lead and coordinate MEP design, engineering specifications and technical execution.
- Review and coordinate civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire and other engineering requirements.
- Translate architectural and interior design concepts into practical technical drawings, specifications and site execution plans.
- Ensure renovation work preserves the heritage character of the property while meeting up-to-date hospitality and operational requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Unit Chief Engineers on asset upkeep, engineering standards and maintenance requirements.
- Support implementation of best engineering practices across all operating and upcoming properties.
Design & Renovation Coordination
- Work closely with architects,
interior designers, consultants and project teams.
- Ensure design concepts are technically feasible, operationally practical and aligned with hospitality standards.
- Coordinate site-level execution to maintain design quality and brand consistency.
- Support refurbishment and redesign initiatives for guest rooms, public spaces, wellness areas, restaurants and back-of-house facilities.
BOQ, CAPEX & Procurement Coordination
- Prepare, review and standardize BOQs, technical specifications and project cost estimates.
- Drive value engineering initiatives without compromising quality, safety or guest experience.
- Develop and manage renovation budgets and CAPEX plans.
- Coordinate closely with the Head of Procurement on:
- Standardization of BOQs and technical specifications.
- Evaluation and onboarding of suitable vendors.
- Identification of strategic vendors for upcoming properties.
- Standardization of brand amenities and engineering materials.
- Vendor performance and cost optimization.
- Support e-tendering, vendor sourcing, technical evaluation and contract negotiations.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Manage contractors, site supervisors, consultants and local vendors across multiple project locations.
- Monitor work quality, productivity and adherence to project timelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Evaluate contractor performance and recommend improvements or changes where required.
Compliance, Safety & Audits
- Conduct and coordinate Fire & Life Safety (FLS) audits and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor hygiene, engineering and statutory compliance across renovation projects.
- Coordinate with government authorities and consultants for approvals, licenses and statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with electrical, fire safety, pollution control and other relevant regulations.
Property Engineering & Operational Excellence
- Coordinate with Unit Chief Engineers on asset management, engineering upkeep and maintenance standards.
- Monitor engineering-related performance indicators, including HLP and RM performance where applicable.
- Drive implementation of best engineering and maintenance practices across the portfolio.
- Support pre-opening teams in establishing engineering SOPs, maintenance plans and operational readiness.
Sustainability & Energy Management
- Support energy and water efficiency initiatives during renovation and retrofit projects.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable materials, green retrofits and efficient engineering systems.
- Recommend initiatives that reduce operating costs and improve long-term asset performance.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Property GMs, Chief Engineers, architects, designers, consultants and leadership teams.
- Ensure renovated spaces meet operational requirements, guest expectations and Ridhira brand standards.
- Act as a key technical bridge between corporate leadership and on-ground project teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in hotel or hospitality engineering and projects.
- Strong experience in renovation, refurbishment, revamp or retrofit projects; experience limited only to new-build projects will not be sufficient.

- HVAC
- Electrical and plumbing systems

- Construction and project management
- Experience in BOQ preparation, CAPEX planning, value engineering and cost control.
- Experience in e-tendering, vendor sourcing, contractor management and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of FLS audits, hygiene standards and statutory compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across different locations.
- Experience working with heritage, boutique or luxury hospitality properties will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Office.
- Willingness to travel extensively across project locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- MBA or certification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience with heritage hotels, luxury hospitality brands, boutique hotels or wellness/spa properties is preferred.
- Experience in pre-opening, renovation and repositioning of hospitality assets will be highly desirable.
