Role Description The Assistant Vice President role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The AVP will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting detailed market and financial analysis, and preparing investment memos and presentations for the investment committee. This role involves regular meetings with founders, performing due diligence, tracking portfolio company performance, and supporting strategic initiatives to create value across the portfolio.
The AVP will also contribute to fund reporting, investor communication,
and internal process improvements, working closely with senior leadership to refine investment theses and sector focus areas.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in investment analysis, financial modeling, and valuation, with experience assessing early-stage technology startups.
- Proficiency in market research, competitive benchmarking, and data-driven decision making for evaluating sectors and business models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear investment memos, presentations, and founder/investor correspondence.
- Solid relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities to engage with founders, co-investors, and internal teams.
- Prior experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a high-growth startup environment.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, manage multiple deals simultaneously, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, or a related field; qualified certifications (e.g., CA, CFA, MBA) are an advantage.
- Demonstrated interest in the Indian startup ecosystem and technology-led businesses; familiarity with key startup sectors is beneficial.
