Role Description The Assistant Professor of Physics will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate courses in physics and related areas, using effective and engaging instructional methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures and laboratory sessions, assessing student performance, and providing academic advising and mentorship. The role also involves conducting research, publishing scholarly work, participating in departmental activities, and contributing to curriculum development and program review.
The Assistant
Professor will collaborate with colleagues on academic projects, attend faculty meetings,
and take part in institutional events and committees. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Northern Group of Institutions in Alwar.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Physics, with the ability to teach a range of topics at the undergraduate level.
- Background in Theoretical Physics, with interest in developing and guiding research projects.
- Knowledge of Physics Education and modern pedagogy, including student-centered and experiential learning approaches.
- Proficiency in Mathematics to support teaching and research in physics and related domains.
- Exposure to Astronomy or related fields, with the ability to integrate relevant concepts into teaching and outreach.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution (Ph.D. preferred).
- Demonstrated ability or potential to conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and secure academic collaborations.
- Effective communication skills, classroom management abilities, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices.
- Willingness to engage in departmental and institutional service, student mentoring, and continuous professional development.
