Call for Applications Assistant Professor – Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS) Chanakya University, Bengaluru The Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS), Chanakya University, invites applications from scholars with strong academic and research profiles in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and interdisciplinary areas. Candidates with demonstrated scholarship and a commitment to advancing contemporary research, teaching, and applications of IKS are encouraged to apply. Areas of Expertise Applications are particularly invited from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1.

Computational

Linguistics, AI and Indian Knowledge Systems Candidates with strong expertise in Computational Linguistics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, or related fields, with demonstrated interest or experience in applying these to Sanskrit, Indian languages, Indian textual traditions, or Indian Knowledge Systems. This may include areas such as language technologies, development of LLMs and AI tools for Indian languages, computational analysis of Sanskrit and Indic texts, or other technology-enabled approaches to IKS. 2.

Social

Sciences and Indian Knowledge Systems Candidates with a Master's degree in Social Sciences or Indian Knowledge Systems,



with strong scholarly orientation in IKS and demonstrated expertise in engaging Indian Knowledge Systems with contemporary social-science discourse. Areas may include management, economics, political thought, sociology, psychology, education, development studies, or other relevant social-science disciplines, with an ability to bring IKS perspectives into interdisciplinary scholarship. 3.

Interdisciplinary Indian Knowledge Systems

Candidates with strong expertise in any area of Indian Knowledge Systems, including but not limited to Indian mathematics and astronomy, Ayurveda, philosophy, architecture, agriculture, and other traditional knowledge domains, along with a demonstrated interdisciplinary research orientation and the ability to connect IKS with contemporary academic disciplines and research questions.

Eligibility

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in the relevant discipline/area with UGC-NET qualification, or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline/area, as applicable. Candidates should also demonstrate robust potential for research, teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, curriculum development, and the contemporary advancement of Indian Knowledge Systems.
