Job Purpose

Responsible for planning, execution, supervision, and quality control of civil construction activities in a power project, ensuring work is completed safely, within schedule, budget, and approved technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Civil Construction & Execution
- Supervise execution of civil works for power project facilities.
- Manage RCC, PCC, structural foundations, excavation, backfilling, concreting, roads, drains, buildings, and other infrastructure works.
- Ensure construction is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, and method statements.
- Monitor day-to-day progress and resolve site-level technical issues.

- Power Project Civil Works
- Coordinate civil works related to:
- Powerhouse / plant buildings
- Equipment foundations
- Transformer and switchyard foundations
- Control room and administrative buildings
- Cooling tower/facilities, where applicable
- Cable trenches and pipe trenches
- Roads, drainage and other plant infrastructure
- Boundary wall and miscellaneous civil works

- Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Monitor actual progress against project schedules.
- Coordinate with Planning, Mechanical, Electrical, QA/QC, Procurement, and Project teams.
- Identify delays and support corrective action plans.

- Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Review civil/structural drawings and identify discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering teams for technical clarifications.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are used at site.
- Prepare and monitor RFI/TQ requirements.





- Contractor Management
- Supervise civil contractors and subcontractors.
- Allocate work fronts and monitor manpower, equipment, and material deployment.
- Check contractor productivity and work quality.
- Verify quantities and support measurement/billing activities.

- Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications, ITPs, method statements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and testing.
- Monitor concrete works, reinforcement, shuttering, earthwork, grouting, waterproofing, etc.
- Ensure timely closure of NCRs and quality observations.

- Safety
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
- Conduct/participate in toolbox talks and site safety inspections.
- Ensure secure execution of excavation, lifting, concreting, work at height, and other civil activities.
- Report and address unsafe conditions immediately.

- Material & Resource Management
- Coordinate requirements for cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, shuttering materials, and other civil materials.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Ensure availability of required manpower, machinery, and construction equipment.

- Documentation & Reporting




- Prepare daily progress reports and construction status reports.
- Maintain records of measurements, inspections, drawings, approvals, and site instructions.
- Support preparation of DPR, WPR, and MPR.
- Maintain proper documentation for project handover.

- Commercial & Billing Support

- Verify executed quantities and contractor measurements.
- Support RA bill preparation and certification.
- Assist in reconciliation of construction materials.
- Monitor work against BOQ and identify scope variations.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in Power, Thermal Power, Renewable Energy, Utility, EPC, or large infrastructure projects preferred.

Experience

- Typically 8–10 years of relevant civil construction experience, depending on project requirements.
- Experience in handling large-scale EPC/project-site civil works will be preferred.
