AllJobs is building AI-powered products that help people find and apply to jobs. We're a small, fast-moving team in Bengaluru, and we're looking for an AI Engineering Lead to own the intelligence layer that makes our products work - and to help shape the engineers and the systems around it as we grow.

This is a hands-on lead role. You'll spend most of your time building, but you'll also set the technical direction for how we apply LLMs in production: what we build ourselves, what we buy, how we evaluate quality, and how we keep latency and cost sane at scale.

What you'll do

- Own the design, build, and operation of the LLM-powered systems at the core of our products, end to end - from prompt and retrieval design through to production serving.
- Turn messy, real-world data into structured signal reliably and at scale.
- Build evaluation and monitoring so model-driven features can be measured, trusted, and improved rather than guessed at.
- Work across the stack to ship features, not just prototypes - integrating AI services cleanly into our API and product surfaces.
- Make pragmatic build-vs-buy calls across model providers, and keep an eye on latency, cost, and reliability.
- Set technical direction for AI work and raise the bar for the engineers around you through review, mentoring, and example.

Must have

- 4–6 years of software engineering experience,



with a meaningful portion spent building and shipping LLM-powered or ML-driven features in production (not only research or notebooks).
- Strong Python, and comfort owning backend services - we run FastAPI on Postgres.
- Hands-on experience with up-to-date LLM APIs (e.g. Gemini, Claude) - prompt design, structured extraction, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation.
- A product instinct: you care whether a feature actually works for a user, and you can reason about quality, latency, and cost together.
- Experience taking systems to production and keeping them healthy - testing, observability, and iteration.

Good to have

- Experience with a modern TypeScript/React frontend (we use Next.js) and a willingness to work across the stack when it helps ship.
- Familiarity with vector search / embeddings and the retrieval side of LLM systems.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure and deployment (we run on Google Cloud).
- Prior experience as a founding or lead engineer at an early-stage startup, or otherwise setting technical direction for a small team.
- A track record of mentoring engineers.

You're happiest owning an ambiguous problem end to end. You're pragmatic about AI - you know when a model is the right tool and when it isn't - and you'd rather ship something measurable and improve it than chase novelty. You want the leverage of a lead role at a small company, where the systems you build are the product.

Compensation is best-in-industry, and this is a hybrid role based in Bengaluru.
