EXL is seeking a hands-on analytics implementation engineer to execute audit and QA work across web and app properties for a multi-brand digital client. The role is responsible for running event validation, querying BigQuery for data quality issues, validating mobile tracking payloads, and maintaining tracking documentation throughout the engagement. This is an execution and delivery role for someone who is rigorous about accuracy, thorough in documentation, and comfortable working across GA4, GTM, AppsFlyer, and BigQuery.

Key responsibilities

- Execute web audit checklist items: walk through each customer journey using GTM Preview and the browser DevTools network tab — product view, add to cart, checkout, purchase, sign-in, and form submission. For each step, confirm the correct event fires with the right parameters.
- Validate GA4 events in DebugView: confirm event name, required parameters, correct data types, and absence of PII in parameter values.
- Run BigQuery data quality queries: surface (not set) volumes in source and medium, purchase events with missing values, duplicate events, and parameters that do not match the tracking spec.
- Support AppsFlyer event validation: cross-reference AppsFlyer event logs against the tracking spec and document any discrepancies with evidence.
- Log all findings in the audit tracker: surface, category, root cause, evidence, and recommended fix. The tracker is the primary input to the gap report.
- Maintain tracking documentation: draft event tables, parameter definitions, and implementation code snippet templates from specifications provided by the engagement lead.
- Prepare status reporting: pull current metrics and format findings for governance meeting summaries, flagging any new anomalies since the previous update.

Required skills & experience





- Google Analytics 4 — navigate reports, use DebugView in real time, build Exploration reports, and understand the purchase event structure.
- Google Tag Manager — use GTM Preview mode, read tag and trigger configurations, and identify firing issues.
- Browser DevTools (network tab) — filter for the GA4 collect endpoint, inspect request payloads, and identify missing or malformed parameters.
- BigQuery and SQL — write queries against GA4 event export tables to identify data quality issues and summarise results for reporting.
- Structured documentation — produce clear, consistent audit checklists, findings logs, event tables, and data dictionaries.

Preferred qualifications

- AppsFlyer — navigate the dashboard, read event logs, and cross-reference attribution data against GA4.
- Firebase DebugView — enable debug mode and validate in-app events in real time.
- Experience producing audit deliverables or gap reports in a consulting or agency context.
- Familiarity with Android emulator or device-based tag validation for app audit work.

Education & experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2–5 years in digital analytics implementation or QA, with hands-on use of GA4, GTM, and BigQuery.
- Experience in a consulting or agency delivery environment is preferred.

What success looks like

Every event in the tracking spec is validated with evidence. Every finding is documented clearly as it is found. Data quality queries surface issues before they reach the client. The gap report is evidence-led — every claim backed by a query result, a DebugView screenshot, or a network call payload.
