The Project Head Pottangi Bauxite Mine will be responsible for overall planning, execution, development and management of the Pottangi-Bauxite mine (a green field project) as per agreement executed between NALCO and Dilip Buildcon Ltd (DBL). The role includes timely project completion of over land conveyor corridor (OLCC), water intake facilities, alternate road, and other allied system & infrastructure etc. and develop strategies and action plan to achieve peak rated capacity (PRC) production within approved budget , ensure safety and quality management, obtain and maintain all statutory compliances, liasing and maintaining cordial relation with NALCO and other Govt & Statutory bodies and managing stakeholder linked to the Pottangi Bauxite Mine.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & implementation

- Be responsible for project implementation from design to commissioning of the Potangi Bauxite Mine as per the direction of the company/ SPV objectives.
- Oversee land acquisition, forest clearance (FC), environment clearance (EC), CTE & CTO and other statutory approvals.
- Coordinate daily with the NALCO project team to ensure smooth implementation, clear communication, and timely completion of all project milestones as per agreed timelines.
- Design of appropriate systems and process to manage project to achieve desired level of output aligned with budget, prepare MIS and performance reporting system

Mining Operations Management

- Ensure achievement of production, quality, and dispatch targets as per monthly & annual mining plan.
- Ensure utilization of mining machinery (HME/SM/Dozers/Tippers) at optimal productivity.
- Implement best practices in grade control, ore blending, and stockpile management.

Safety, Setting & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure full compliance with Mines Act, DGMS regulations, MCDR, environmental norms, and corporate governance and compliance to the project agreement.
- Drive Zero Harm, SHE programs, and risk-management initiatives.
- Maintain all statutory documents, approvals,



and liaison with DGMS, IBM, MoEF&CC;, SPCB, District Authorities, etc.

Financial & Resource Management

- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost control measures, and CAPEX planning.
- Lead tendering, contractor management, and vendor evaluation for mining services.
- Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining quality and safety.

Stakeholder & External Relations

- Liaise with NALCO and other Government agencies, local communities, to ensure uninterrupted project implementation and achieving timely production
- Handle stakeholder issues related to OLCC land possession, compensation, employment, and local development.

Team Leadership

- Build and lead a multi-disciplinary project team including mining, geology, mechanical, electrical, HR & admin.
- Ensure implementation of Company system and policies for effective people management and development
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluation for subordinates, staff and contractors.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- B.Tech / B.E. in Mining Engineering.
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate under MMR-1961 (Restricted/Unrestricted) – mandatory
- 25+ years of total experience in open-cast metal mining including 5+ years’ experience in setting up of a green field project
- Experience in bauxite or similar ore (iron ore, laterite) operations preferred.
- Knowledge and application of LARR Act, Env & Forest Act, MCDR compliance etc
