JOB PURPOSE :

The External Reporting will be a key member of the Group Finance team, responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of external financial reporting across 14 markets we operate in. Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will ensure the timely, accurate, and compliant submission of statutory reports and regulatory filings, while working closely with local finance teams, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of IFRS and regional regulatory frameworks, along with leadership skills to influence across a matrixed organization.

Expected End Results :

1. External Reporting

- Lead and manage the external reporting process across the Sub Saharan Africa region, ensuring timely submission of statutory accounts and regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant local GAAPs across all 14 OpCos.
- Partner with in-country finance leads to standardize reporting processes and improving data quality and accuracy
- Maintain and enhance reporting templates and tools for effective group-level analysis and presentations
- Participating in and leading special projects related to financial reporting, such as mergers, acquisitions, or capital market transactions.

2 • Statutory Reporting

- Responsible for the oversight of the consolidated external quarterly and annual financial statements and preparation of the MD&A; in accordance with IFRS
- Keep abreast of emerging IFRS regulations and applicable local country rules over financial reporting and ensure adoption and implementation across the organization with development of accounting policies, procedures, and financial statement disclosure




- Ensure financial integrity of data and ensure compliance with company policies for areas under this role and maintain proper documentation to support SOX audit
- Responsible for the preparation and coordination of filing of all internal and external financial reporting, compliance with government and other regulators
- Collaborate with tax, treasury, compliance, and legal to ensure accurate disclosures and alignment with corporate reporting requirements

3. Resolution of OPCO Queries and guidance for proper Control.

- Creation of Proper Review Mechanism to ensure correct financial reporting.
- Release of various current reporting manuals/guidelines to ensure correct accounting & uniformity in books.
- To provide guidance on existing accounting practices, accounting & operational issues.

4. Managing Strategic Partners

- To maintain excellent relations & manage all Strategic Partners for operational, accounting & resolution of any issues.
- To timely highlight all issues to the Partner Governance team for corresponding action & closure.
- To ensure the release of accounting guidelines & processes for all accounting, reconciliations with Strategic Partners .

5. Monitor the successful completion of Financial Reporting Projects

- Automation of processes
- Release of Accounting Guidelines .

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification required.
- Post graduate Degree in Finance/Accounting would be advantageous
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a regional or group-level role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with multi-entity, multi-country reporting.
- Expert knowledge of the latest accounting tools / Software available for reporting
- Knowledge of changes in the Accounting Standards applied under IFRS / I GAAP / US GAAP • Exposure to an ERP setting, Oracle, Ms Excel and Ms Access
