We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing mechanical components, assemblies, prototypes, and functional models. The candidate will be involved in the complete design cycle, including concept development, 3D CAD modelling, engineering drawings, material selection, prototype/model making, testing, modification, and final product development.

The role requires strong practical knowledge of mechanical design principles along with hands-on capability in developing physical models and prototypes.

- Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Design Develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings with dimensions, tolerances, sections, and material specifications.
- Perform basic design calculations related to strength, load, motion, mechanisms, and material selection.
- Develop concepts and convert them into manufacturable mechanical designs.
- Design mechanical structures, frames, enclosures, mechanisms, fixtures, and prototypes.
- Modify existing designs based on testing, customer requirements, and manufacturing feedback.
- Perform design reviews and identify potential design and manufacturing issues.
- 3D Modelling & CAD Create accurate 3D models, assemblies, exploded views, and manufacturing drawings.
- Work with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.
- Apply appropriate GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and assembly constraints.
- Maintain proper revision control and documentation of design files.
- Model Making & Prototyping Convert CAD concepts into physical prototypes, working models, demonstration models, and functional mechanical models.
- Select appropriate materials and fabrication techniques for prototype development.
- Work with materials such as MDF, acrylic, plywood, plastics, aluminum, mild steel, foam, 3D-printed components,



and other engineering materials.
- Participate in fabrication, cutting, drilling, machining, assembly, bonding, and finishing activities.
- Use 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, and conventional workshop tools where applicable.
- Assemble and test prototypes to verify functionality and design performance.
- Identify prototype failures and implement design improvements.
- Testing & Development Conduct functional and dimensional testing of prototypes.
- Analyze test results and recommend design modifications.
- Support product development from concept → CAD model → prototype → testing → final design.
- Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, drawings, and prototype reports.
- Required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles.
- Good understanding of engineering drawing and GD&T;.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, fasteners, bearings, shafts, gears, springs, couplings, and mechanisms.
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of tolerances, fits, surface finish, and machining processes.
- Basic knowledge of strength of materials and engineering mechanics.
- Hands-on knowledge of prototype and model fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Software Essential:

- AutoCAD
- Any one 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA / Fusion 360

Preferred:

- ANSYS or other FEA software
- SolidWorks Simulation
- KeyShot or similar rendering software
- 3D printing/CAD slicing software




- MS Excel and technical documentation tools
- Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Candidates with backgrounds in Production, Mechatronics, Automobile, or related engineering disciplines may also be considered.
- Experience 0–3 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modelling, prototyping, fabrication, or model making.
- Freshers with strong CAD projects, prototype development, engineering models, or hands-on workshop experience may also apply.

Typical Work Process: Concept Development → Preliminary Design → 3D CAD Modelling → Engineering Analysis → 2D Drawing → Material Selection → Prototype/Model Making → Assembly → Testing → Design Modification → Final Product

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Environment: The position involves a combination of CAD/design-office work and hands-on workshop/prototyping activities. The candidate should be comfortable working with both computer-based design tools and physical model-making equipment.
