1. Project Planning & Execution
- Manage the complete lifecycle of road/highway construction projects from mobilization through completion and handover.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules, work programs, and execution strategies.
- Ensure construction activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Monitor progress against planned milestones and implement corrective actions where required.
2. Site & Construction Management
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Supervise major roadwork activities including earthwork, embankment, subgrade, GSB/WMM, bituminous works, drainage, culverts, bridges, utilities, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure proper deployment and utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
- Resolve technical and operational issues affecting project progress.
3. Cost & Commercial Management
- Monitor project costs, budgets, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Review quantities, measurements, variations, and subcontractor bills.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
- Support claims, variations, extension-of-time requests, and other contractual matters.
4. Quality Management
- Ensure construction complies with approved specifications, quality plans, drawings, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections, testing, approvals, and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality records and project deliverables.
5. Safety & Environmental Management
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and statutory requirements.
- Promote a robust safety culture across the project site.
- Monitor traffic management, work-zone safety, environmental controls, and emergency preparedness.
- Investigate incidents and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
6. Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary project-level point of contact for clients, consultants, authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular progress meetings and provide project status reports.
- Coordinate approvals, inspections, utility shifting, permits, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate project engineers, construction managers, planning engineers, QA/QC personnel, safety teams, and support staff.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor individual and team performance.
- Ensure adequate staffing and competency for project requirements.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Monitor KPIs covering progress, cost, quality, safety, productivity, and resources.
- Maintain project records, correspondence, approvals, drawings, contracts, and completion documentation.
- Ensure timely preparation of as-built drawings, completion certificates, and handover documents.
