Job Title: General Manager – Hotel & Banquets (Weddings & Events)
Reports To: Mr. Vicky Choudhary
Location: Vande Mataram road, Jaipur
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position SummaryThe General Manager will hold end-to-end operational and P&L; responsibility for the property, with a solid focus on wedding and event business. The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage guest experience, staff, F&B;, facilities, and revenue simultaneously — someone equally comfortable walking the kitchen floor, closing a booking, and reviewing a P&L.;
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Bookings & Events Management
- Own the entire event sales funnel — enquiry to contract to execution — for weddings, receptions, corporate events, and social functions
- Manage banquet calendar, block dates, avoid double-booking, and optimize venue utilization across peak/off-season
- Coordinate with clients/wedding planners on menus, décor vendors, timelines, and day-of execution
- Negotiate packages, rates, and terms; ensure advance/payment schedules are followed
- Personally oversee execution of high-value or high-profile events
2. Property & Front Office Management
- Oversee room inventory, check-in/check-out, guest services, and occupancy optimization
- Ensure preventive maintenance, AMC schedules, and property upkeep (electrical, plumbing, banquet infrastructure, landscaping, generators/power backup)
- Manage vendor contracts for repairs, equipment, and outsourced services
- Ensure licensing and statutory compliance (fire safety, liquor license, FSSAI, local municipal/tourism department approvals)
3. Kitchen & F&B; Operations
- Oversee menu planning for banquets/weddings in coordination with Executive Chef
- Monitor food cost, portion control, wastage, and quality/hygiene standards (FSSAI compliance)
- Approve banquet menus, tasting sessions, and special dietary requirements
- Ensure kitchen staffing and prep schedules align with event calendar, especially peak wedding season
4. Housekeeping
- Ensure room and banquet hall readiness, turnaround time between events, and cleanliness standards
- Manage linen, laundry, and inventory of housekeeping consumables
- Set and audit SOPs for pre-event and post-event turnaround
5. HR & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and manage department heads (Chef, Housekeeping Supervisor, Banquet Manager, Front Office Manager)
- Handle staffing scale-up for peak wedding season (banquet captains, waitstaff, security, valet — often outsourced/on-call)
- Conduct performance reviews, attendance/payroll coordination, and grievance redressal
- Build SOPs, duty rosters, and training modules for consistent service delivery
6. Marketing & Sales
- Drive property visibility for weddings/events via digital marketing (Instagram, wedding portals like WedMeGood/ShaadiSaga, Google My Business)
- Build relationships with wedding planners, decorators, photographers, and travel agents for referral business
- Plan promotional offers for off-season occupancy
- Track lead conversion, source of bookings, and competitor pricing
7. Finance & Administration
- Prepare and manage budgets, monitor revenue vs. cost per event, and control departmental expenses
- Review daily/weekly/monthly MIS — occupancy, banquet revenue, F&B; cost %, ADR (average daily rate)
- Oversee vendor payments, petty cash, and coordinate with accounts/finance team
- Ensure GST compliance on billing and coordinate with the finance/CA team for statutory filings
8. Guest Experience & Quality Control
- Personally handle escalations and VIP/high-value client relationships
- Conduct regular property walk-throughs and service audits
- Collect and act on guest/client feedback to continuously improve service standards
9. Other Scope (As Required)
- Liaise with local authorities, police, and administration for large events/security clearances
- Coordinate with external vendors — decorators, DJs, photographers, valet, security agencies
- Crisis management (weather contingencies, power backup, medical emergencies during events)
- Any other operational responsibility as the business requires

- Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's/Master's in Hotel Management or related field
- 8–12+ years in hospitality, with minimum 3–4 years in a GM/senior operations role at a wedding/banquet-focused property
- Proven track record in managing high-volume event operations
- Strong working knowledge of F&B;, housekeeping, and front office operations
- Experience handling licensing/compliance for hospitality establishments
- Key SkillsStrong leadership and cross-functional team management
- Sales and negotiation skills for high-ticket event bookings
- Financial acumen — budgeting, P&L; management, cost control
- Crisis management and problem-solving under pressure
- Vendor management and relationship-building
- Proficiency with booking/PMS software and basic MIS/Excel reporting
