We are hiring Civil / Structural Lead Engineers for industrial projects delivered from our client's Chennai engineering centre. You will lead the analysis and design of industrial structures, pipe racks, utility and service buildings, review 2D deliverables and 3D models produced by the team, and drive coordination with other disciplines and the site team. The role includes direct interface with the Professional Engineer (PE) for approvals and with clients in review meetings, so it suits an engineer who is equally strong technically and in communication.
Brownfield exposure and hands-on experience with US design codes alongside IS codes are what set the strongest candidates apart here.
Key responsibilities:
- Analysis and design of industrial structures, pipe racks, utility buildings and other service buildings
- Design and detailing of process and non-process buildings, machine foundations, water retaining structures and warehouse projects
- Review of 2D deliverables and 3D models
- Coordination with other discipline engineers and with the onsite team
- Coordination with the Professional Engineer (PE) and obtaining required approvals
- Verification of drawings against field data
- Attending and contributing to client review meetings
- Supporting brownfield scope including tie-ins to existing structures
Education
- BE / B.Tech or ME / M.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience
- 6 to 14 years of structural engineering experience in an industrial workplace
- Strong working experience in design and detailing of pipe racks, machine foundations, water retaining structures, warehouses, and process / non-process buildings
- Strong working experience with IS and US design codes and standards
- Exposure to brownfield projects
