n Role Summary
n As BPL scales into new modalities, Government & Institutional Business is a growing and strategic piece of the company's overall business plan. We're looking for an Assistant Manager — Government Business to own tender documentation and submission across zones, acting as a single point of contact for the tendering process. You'll advise senior sales colleagues on pricing and bid strategy, and be responsible for producing high-quality, client-tailored tender submissions that put BPL's best foot forward.
n Key Responsibilities
n Tender Lifecycle Management
n n Take ownership of individual tenders handled by the respective Sales teams, controlling key milestones within each submission.
n Manage the tender submission through its entire life cycle, from identification to purchase order handover.
n Follow relevant procedures for tender compilation, authorisation, and dispatch.
n Ensure tenders are submitted consistently ahead of deadlines set by the tendering authority or body.
n n Market Intelligence & Reporting
n n Track tender search systems, newspapers, journals, and relevant tender portals to identify contracts of interest for bidding or market intelligence.
n Maintain and update tender databases and sales records, and produce reports on tenders submitted, won, and their progress with respective teams.
n n Bid Quality, Compliance & Costing
n n Ensure all tenders and business proposals meet relevant specifications, reflect the latest product launches and research, and comply with client requirements.
n Develop costing as part of the quotation process, with a strong understanding of product margins.
n n Stakeholder Coordination
n n Receive and address enquiries from zonal colleagues and clients concerning tenders.
n Follow up meticulously on EMD recovery with tendering authorities and branch commercial officers.
n Interact with zonal teams on tenders being pursued, offering support throughout the tendering life cycle.
n Clarify purchase order receipt and prepare detailed order handover documentation for the Sales and Commercial teams.
n Build strong working relationships with Zonal & Branch Sales, Marketing, Product Specialists, and QARA teams to align on technical specifications and requirements.
n n Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
n n Continually upgrade technical know-how, working towards being the single point of contact for all zones on tendering and business proposal submission.
n n What We're Looking For
n Qualifications & Experience
n n Bachelor's degree in ECE Engineering, B.Tech (ECE), Medical Electronics, or a related field, preferred.
n 3-5 years of relevant tendering documentation and submission experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in Medical Devices.
n Proficiency in ERP/SAP and other relevant systems and tools, preferred.
n n Skills & Competencies
n n Excellent oral and written communication skills.
n Solid team interaction skills, with the ability to influence and work with personnel at all levels.
n Commercial acumen, with awareness of product costing and margins.
n Good analytical and technical acumen to assess technical requirements and their compatibility with existing product specifications.
n Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of product costing.
n Creativity to produce tailored documents that effectively portray and sell the company's products and services.
n Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, with sound decision-making under pressure.
n An ownership mindset, with the attitude to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges.
