Role & responsibilities

1. Incoming Material Quality Control

- Verify raw materials against purchase specifications.
- Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and supplier documents.
- Conduct incoming inspection of castings, forgings, bars, and purchased components.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

1. In-Process Quality Control

- Monitor machining operations such as Turning, Milling, Drilling, Grinding, CNC Machining, and VMC operations.
- Perform first-piece approval and patrol inspections.
- Verify adherence to control plans and inspection standards.
- Monitor critical process parameters and machining tolerances.
- Ensure operators follow quality procedures and work instructions.

1. Final Inspection & Product Release

- Conduct dimensional inspection using:

- Vernier Calipers

- Micrometers

- Height Gauges

- Bore Gauges

- Dial Indicators

- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Verify surface finish, geometrical tolerances, and functional requirements.
- Approve products for dispatch after meeting customer specifications.

1. Drawing & Specification Review

- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; requirements.
- Review customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Verify process capability to achieve drawing tolerances.
- Support production teams in understanding quality standards.

1. Non-Conformance Management

- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials.
- Raise NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
- Conduct root cause analysis using:
- 5 Why Analysis

- Fishbone Diagram

- Pareto Analysis
- 8D Methodology
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

1. Process Capability & Statistical Analysis





- Monitor process capability (Cp, Cpk).
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Analyze rejection trends and quality losses.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce variation and defects.

1. Customer Quality Management

- Handle customer complaints and quality concerns.
- Conduct failure analysis for returned parts.
- Prepare 8D reports and corrective action reports.
- Participate in customer audits and quality reviews.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

1. Supplier Quality Management

- Evaluate supplier quality performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments.
- Monitor incoming rejection levels.
- Drive supplier corrective actions and improvement plans.

1. Calibration & Measurement System Management

- Ensure calibration of measuring instruments.
- Maintain calibration records and traceability.
- Conduct Gauge R&R; studies.
- Verify measurement system effectiveness.

1. Quality Documentation

- Prepare and maintain:

- Control Plans

- Inspection Reports

- Process Flow Charts

- SOPs

- Quality Records

- PPAP Documents

- FAI Reports
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF documentation requirements.

1. Internal & External Audits

- Conduct internal process and product audits.
- Support ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 audits.
- Track audit findings and closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with QMS requirements.

1. Continuous Improvement Activities

- Lead Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and customer PPM.
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY).

- Support cost reduction through quality improvement projects.
