Job SummaryThe US Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting residential mortgage loan applications, including Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR products. The role involves assessing borrower eligibility, analyzing risk, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines, and making accurate underwriting decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and underwrite Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR mortgage loans.
- Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, employment, and collateral to assess eligibility and risk.
- Evaluate alternative documentation loans including Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, 1099 Income, ITIN, and P&L-only; programs.
- Ensure compliance with agency, investor, company, and regulatory guidelines.
- Issue approvals, conditions, suspensions, or denials based on underwriting standards.
- Review and clear underwriting conditions and resubmitted documentation.
- Coordinate with loan officers, processors, brokers, and internal teams to support timely loan decisions.
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and support quality control and audit processes.
- Stay updated with mortgage products, investor requirements, and regulatory changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of relevant US Mortgage Underwriting experience.




- Experience in Conventional and/or Non-QM loan products.
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Non-QM, and DSCR underwriting guidelines.
- Experience in income analysis, risk assessment, and mortgage compliance.
- Exposure to LOS / AUS tools such as Encompass, CalyxPath, DU, LP, etc.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple loan files in a high-volume environment.
- Versatile to work in US rotational night shifts.
- Willing to work from office in Kochi.
