Role Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Main Technical Chief - Powertrain Center of Excellence (CoE) to lead our Powertrain Engineering organization and drive the development of next-generation conventional, hybrid, and electric powertrain systems.

This leadership role combines deep technical expertise, engineering management, delivery ownership, and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will establish technology roadmaps, lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee global engineering programs, support pre-sales initiatives, and ensure delivery of innovative, compliant, and cost-effective powertrain solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

- Define and drive the Powertrain CoE vision, strategy, technology roadmap, and engineering governance.
- Lead architecture and integration of:

- IC Engines
- Transmissions & Driveline Systems
- Hybrid & Electric Powertrains

- Electric Drive Units

- Battery Systems

- Power Electronics
- Controls & Calibration

- Thermal Management Systems
- Translate vehicle-level requirements into system and component specifications.
- Ensure achievement of performance, fuel economy, emissions, efficiency, range, NVH, durability, reliability, weight, and cost targets.
- Drive simulation-led development using MBSE, MiL, SiL, HiL, CFD, CAE, and vehicle-level validation methods.
- Lead DVP&R;, DFMEA, root cause analysis, homologation, functional safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance activities.

Engineering Delivery & Program Management
- Own end-to-end project delivery for all Powertrain CoE programs.
- Manage technical risks, resource allocation, quality targets, program schedules, and financial performance.
- Ensure successful execution from concept through production launch.
- Drive supplier development, localization, cost optimization, and value engineering initiatives.

Team & Stakeholder Management




- Build and mentor high-performing teams of system engineers, specialists, project managers, and technical leaders.
- Define competency frameworks, succession plans, and capability development roadmaps.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Vehicle Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Purchasing, Service, and Global Stakeholders.

Business Development & Pre-Sales
- Lead technical responses for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
- Develop winning technical solutions, resource plans, effort estimations, and delivery models.
- Participate in customer workshops, proposal presentations, capability demonstrations, and bid-defense discussions.
- Support business growth through new opportunities, account expansion, and strategic partnerships.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:

Experience
- 15+ years of automotive powertrain engineering experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in complete vehicle or powertrain development programs.
- Experience managing global engineering teams and customer-facing engagements.
- Robust knowledge of automotive product development lifecycle and production launch processes.
