Job Title: Senior Agronomist
Location: Gurugram | On-site

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Agronomist / Head Grower to take complete ownership of crop production and farm operations at our facility.
The role will be responsible for crop planning, sowing, growing, nutrient management, crop health, harvesting, yield optimisation and farm utilisation .
This is a hands-on operational role requiring proven commercial hydroponics experience . Academic or hobby-level experience is not sufficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end hydroponic crop production from sowing to harvest .
- Develop crop calendars and staggered planting schedules for continuous harvest.
- Maximise utilisation of available growing infrastructure.
- Monitor crop health, growth rates, yield and crop-cycle performance.
- Manage pH, EC, DO, nutrient concentration, irrigation and water quality .
- Develop and maintain crop-specific nutrient recipes and SOPs.
- Manage nutrient requirements, particularly for RO water systems .
- Identify and resolve nutritional deficiencies, pest infestations and diseases.
- Implement and maintain IPM and crop-health protocols .
- Diagnose crop underperformance and implement corrective actions quickly.
- Manage different crop categories including leafy greens, herbs, microgreens and specialty crops/edible flowers .
- Establish crop-wise targets for yield, cycle duration and crop success.
- Maintain daily records of pH, EC, crop health, planting, harvests, losses and yield .
- Track yield per m² per cycle and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare production and consumption reports on a timely basis.
- Lead and train farm staff on crop-production SOPs and daily operations.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for crop failures and implement preventive measures.
- Continuously improve production efficiency, yield and cost/kg.
Experience
- Hands-on commercial hydroponics experience .
- Proven experience managing a commercial hydroponic farm, grow facility or CEA operation.
- Strong understanding of pH, EC, DO, nutrient chemistry, fertigation and water management .
- Practical experience with RO water and nutrient buffering .
- Robust crop nutrition and plant-health knowledge.
- Ability to identify pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies .
- Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) .
- Experience developing and following agricultural SOPs.
- Strong understanding of crop scheduling and continuous harvest planning .
- Experience tracking yield, crop losses, utilisation and production costs.
- Ability to manage and train farm personnel.
- Strong problem-solving and data-analysis skills.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a farm/grow environment.
Education Bachelor's/Master's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
Commercial experience and demonstrated farm performance will be prioritised over academic qualifications.
