Senior Accountant – UK Client Accounts

About the Role

We are a growing Mumbai-based company providing dedicated offshore support services to clients in the UK.

We are currently recruiting experienced Senior Accountants to support one of our UK clients.

This is an excellent chance for experienced accounting professionals who are comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities, month-end processes, reconciliations, financial reporting and maintaining accurate financial records.

The successful candidates will work closely with the client's UK-based team, so excellent spoken and written English communication skills are essential.

This is a full-time, office-based position in Andheri East, Mumbai, working UK-aligned hours.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
- Managing day-to-day accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Managing accounts payable, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payment preparation.
- Performing bank, supplier, customer and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Supporting and completing month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reviewing accounting records to identify discrepancies and ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
- Producing financial reports and providing accurate financial information to management.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis where required.
- Maintaining accounting records using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.




- Ensuring accounting activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Working closely with UK-based colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
- Supporting junior members of the finance team where required.
- Ensuring appropriate accounting procedures, controls and financial standards are followed.

Essential Experience & Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of financial accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience preparing financial and management reports.
- Practical experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Confidence communicating professionally with UK-based colleagues and stakeholders.

Desirable Experience The following would be advantageous:
- Previous experience working with UK clients or a UK-based organisation.
- Experience with UK accounting processes and terminology.
- Experience working within an outsourced accounting, finance or professional services environment.




- Experience preparing management accounts.
- Experience supporting audits or year-end accounting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and financial reporting.

Working Hours Monday to Friday: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST

These working hours are required to provide appropriate overlap with our UK client.

Candidates must be comfortable working these hours on a permanent basis.

Location

This is a Work from Office role based in Andheri East, Mumbai.

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office or relocate before starting employment.

Salary

₹6,00,000 – ₹8,40,000 per annum

Final salary will depend on experience, accounting knowledge, software skills and overall suitability for the role.
