Position Overview

Amanora Mall, Pune, is seeking a highly experienced, disciplined, and proactive Security Manager to lead the complete security operations of a large-scale, high-footfall retail and entertainment destination.

The Security Manager will be responsible for overall security planning, manpower management, risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, crowd management, incident response, and coordination with statutory and law-enforcement authorities.

The ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience in security operations and team management, with substantial exposure to large commercial establishments, shopping malls, airports, metro stations, hotels, stadiums, townships, critical infrastructure, or other high-footfall public environments.

Retired Army / Ex-Defence personnel will be strongly preferred, particularly candidates who have held leadership positions such as JCO/NCO or equivalent and possess strong experience in operational command, discipline, crisis management, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Security Operations

- Take complete operational responsibility for the security and safety of the mall premises, customers, tenants, employees, visitors, assets, and infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the mall's comprehensive security strategy and SOPs.
- Ensure effective 24x7 security coverage through appropriate deployment of security personnel across all shifts and critical locations.
- Establish clear security protocols for public areas, retail zones, service areas, back-of-house areas, parking facilities, loading/unloading zones, entrances, exits, and other sensitive locations.
- Conduct regular security inspections and ensure strict compliance with established SOPs.

2. Security Manpower Management

- Lead and manage a large security workforce comprising Security Officers, Security Supervisors, Security Guards, Control Room Operators, and outsourced security personnel.
- Prepare and monitor manpower deployment, shift rosters, post allocation, and relief arrangements.
- Ensure adequate security coverage during weekends, holidays, festivals, promotional events, and periods of exceptionally high footfall.
- Maintain high standards of discipline, attendance, grooming, alertness, and professional conduct.
- Conduct regular briefings, training sessions, security awareness programs, and performance reviews.

3. Crowd & Event Management

- Develop effective crowd-management and public-safety plans for peak periods, festivals, celebrity visits, promotional activities, launches, and special events.
- Ensure smooth movement of customers at entry/exit points, escalators, atriums, entertainment zones, food courts, and other high-density areas.
- Prepare event-specific security deployment plans and contingency arrangements.
- Coordinate with Mall Operations and Event Management teams for safe execution of major events.

4. CCTV & Security Control Room

- Oversee the effective operation of the CCTV surveillance network, security control room, access-control systems, alarms, and other electronic security systems.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of critical areas and prompt response to suspicious activities or security incidents.




- Establish procedures for incident escalation, communication, evidence preservation, and investigation.
- Periodically review CCTV coverage and identify blind spots or vulnerabilities.

5. Risk Assessment & Threat Management

- Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability assessments of the mall and surrounding areas.
- Identify potential threats relating to theft, unauthorized access, vandalism, suspicious packages, public disturbances, fire, accidents, and other emergencies.
- Recommend and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
- Keep management updated regarding emerging security risks and recommended mitigation strategies.

6. Emergency & Crisis Management

- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans covering:

- Fire and evacuation

- Medical emergencies
- Bomb threats and suspicious objects

- Major security incidents
- Crowd-related emergencies

- Natural calamities
- Power/infrastructure-related emergencies

- Mass evacuation scenarios
- Conduct regular mock drills, evacuation exercises, fire drills, and emergency response simulations.
- Take command of security operations during critical incidents and ensure timely escalation to senior management and relevant authorities.
- Ensure emergency access routes and assembly areas remain clear and operational.

7. Police & Government Coordination

- Maintain strong working relationships with Pune Police, Fire & Emergency Services, local administration, disaster-management authorities, and other statutory agencies.
- Coordinate with authorities during major incidents, events, VIP visits, emergencies, and investigations.
- Ensure all necessary security-related statutory requirements and documentation are maintained.

8. Parking & Traffic Security

- Oversee security operations across basement/open parking areas, vehicle entry and exit points, pedestrian movement areas, and service roads.
- Ensure effective vehicle screening and access-control procedures.
- Coordinate with parking and operations teams to manage traffic during peak hours and major events.
- Address unauthorized parking, suspicious vehicles, vehicle-related incidents, and traffic congestion.

9. Incident Investigation & Reporting

- Ensure prompt response to incidents involving theft, disputes, accidents, missing persons, unauthorized access, property damage, suspicious activities, and other security breaches.
- Lead preliminary investigations and ensure proper documentation and evidence preservation.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, investigation reports, and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Identify recurring security issues and implement measures to prevent their repetition.

10. Security Agency & Vendor Management

- Manage outsourced security agencies and ensure compliance with agreed manpower requirements, SLAs, KPIs, SOPs, and service standards.
- Monitor deployment, attendance, training, uniforms, documentation, and performance of outsourced personnel.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews of security vendors and recommend corrective action wherever required.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in security operations and team management.
- Proven experience managing large security teams, preferably 100+ personnel.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a large mall, commercial complex, airport, metro, stadium, township, hospitality property, or similar high-footfall setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, crowd management, access control, CCTV surveillance, incident management, and emergency response.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure and time-critical situations.
- Strong administrative, communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Good command of English and Hindi; knowledge of Marathi will be an advantage.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and digital security/reporting systems.

Preferred Candidate

- Retired Army / Ex-Defence personnel strongly preferred.
- Former JCO/NCO or equivalent leadership experience will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in large malls, airports, metro rail, stadiums, critical infrastructure, large townships, or other high-footfall facilities will be preferred.
- Strong experience in discipline management, SOP implementation, emergency command, crisis response, and manpower administration.
