We are seeking a detail-oriented RFQ Engineer to lead the technical estimation, costing, and RFQ response generation for our automotive and EV wire harness product lines. In this role, you will analyze customer engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical specifications to build accurate cost models, assess manufacturing feasibility, and deliver competitive RFQ submissions.

Key Responsibilities

- RFQ Evaluation &
- Technical Feasibility:

Analyze incoming RFQ packages (2D drawings, 3D CAD models, schematics, and customer specs) for high-voltage and low-voltage wire harnesses.

- Cost Estimation &

- Price Calculation:

Prepare comprehensive BOM costing covering wires, terminals, connectors, grommets, heat shrink tubes, and secondary processing items. Calculate manufacturing cycle times, tooling costs, and scrap allowances.

- Supplier &

- Component Sourcing:

Coordinate with Sourcing/Procurement teams to obtain competitive component quotes from Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers.

- Process Flow &

- Labor Costing:

Work alongside Process/Manufacturing Engineering to define assembly routings, crimping/testing setups, and labor hours.

- DFM &

- Value Engineering:

Identify Design for Manufacturability (DFM) opportunities and propose cost-reduction (VAVE) alternatives to customers.

- Proposal Delivery: Prepare structured commercial and technical bid documents within strict customer deadlines.

- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Sales,



Engineering, Quality (IATF 16949 standards), and Operations teams throughout the quotation-to-order phase.

Required Qualifications &

- Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, or Mechanical Engineering.

- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in RFQ engineering, estimation, or cost engineering within the automotive wire harness industry.

- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of wire harness components (connectors, terminals, wires, protective sleevings, relays, fuse boxes).

- Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading 2D electrical wiring schematics and harness layout drawings. Knowledge of CAD viewing tools (CATIA, AutoCAD, or Creo) is a plus.

- Analytical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, custom cost matrices).

- Quality Standards: Basic understanding of automotive quality standards, specifically IATF 16949.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- On-time completion rate of RFQs

- Accuracy of cost estimations vs. actual post-production costs

- Conversion/win rate of submitted quotations

- Identification of VAVE / cost-saving initiatives in bids

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
